Hi! I’m Valentine, an international business student with a passion for languages and teaching. I’ve been teaching dance for several years, and through that experience, I’ve learned how to make lessons fun, dynamic, and adapted to each person’s needs. Now, I bring the same energy and patience to my English tutoring.

Experience / Qualifications

I’ve built my English skills through both academic studies and international experiences. I spent 3 months in Canada and 10 months in the U.S. as a high school exchange student, where I was fully immersed in English-speaking environments. For the past three years, I’ve been studying International Business at Maastricht University, an English-speaking university, which has further strengthened my fluency in both academic and conversational contexts.

These experiences allow me to teach English in a way that’s practical, natural, and culturally aware, helping students gain confidence in real-life situations as well as academic settings.

The purpose of the course is to see with the student, the student or the adult, what are its weak points, and use various tools (grammar, vocabulary, hearing, reading, ...) to remedy it. It can quite come with a concrete request (like for example, to explain a grammar point such as the present perfect) or simply to wish to deepen one's knowledge of the language, or even to start in this same learning of the language. It is for any level and will adapt according to the request of the participant (s). It has the advantage of being flexible and malleable according to the desideratas of the participant (s).
English carries with it the reputation of being complicated to grasp, especially in terms of nuances. And although it must be acknowledged that there are, they are not impossible to learn! - Introduction to language, mainly for primary school children:
As a teacher of English in 5th and 6th grade, I am used to introduce children to English through games, learning by repetition with as little French as possible, etc.

- Introduction to the language for adults (adapted to the needs)

- Catch-up, school support, preparation for oral exams: You are in secondary school or higher and have some gaps in English. I help you to progress using a program adapted to your difficulties. During the first class, a level test is done to target problems and adapt my course to you.

- I have been learning English and French for 6 years and I have been learning Dutch for 4 years.
- For the lessons I will divide the course into 2 parts. The first will be: "exercises" and the 2nd "grammar". I will set up fun exercises to train the 4 dimensions of languages (listening, writing, reading and speaking).
- I will put in place a lot of exercises because it is with practice that we learn a language.
- French and English courses are at an advanced level while Dutch courses are at an intermediate level.
