Hello everyone, I'm Eli and I love languages. I studied legal practice at Thomas More University College. There, I mproved my English and French skills

For me, the most important thing is to build mutual trust and understanding, with student and teacher at roughly the same level, not too much of a difference. We listen to each other and establish a level of English we can be proud of. I enjoy doing this and I get personal satisfaction from it, but I want the student to experience it too. We progress together, step by step, little by little.

About Me
Hello everyone, I'm Eli and I love languages. I studied legal practice at Thomas More University College where I improved my English and French skills.

My classes:
- At high school or universitary/business level like myself.
- My teaching methods are simple: we have a one hour lesson, and then I give a short homework assignment. The assignement can consist of different things like listening to music, watching certain educational videos or actually trying to use the language in daily life and making conversations. Of course the assignements will be adjusted to the reached level and will be made to challenge the student, but in a fun way, not to make them want to back out or feel like a failure.
- Afterwards, we review the assignments together.
- For me, it's important to remain calm in all situations, so I help, offer advice, we talk, and we practice.
- My goal is to teach English to the student and help them find the same love and enjoyment for it that I have.

Experience / Qualifications
I was born in Zimbabwe and only spoke English until I was 5 years old, then started learning Dutch when my parents moved back to Belgium. Those two languages are my native languages. I started learning French from the age of 11, but more properly in my last years of high school and in college.

My love for languages has always moved me to learn more and more and try to master them as well as possible. Currently I'm even learning Romanian.

As a language, Arabic may seem scary, whether you hear two people speaking it with a bit of an aggressive tone, or see the terrifying Alphabet being used and written in a different direction! However! Fear not! I can assure you, i felt the same way about Dutch, and was terrified to try and articulate the words and their meanings. However, after a year of going through a successful active learning course (which our classes will follow a similiar method to), and enough practice, i could confidently say i can hold my grounds, with the fear of the Dutch language being at bay !

In my 2 years of teaching experience, without the "over-use" of "English or other" languages and starting right from the beginning with Arabic, some students and friends of mine were able to speak Arabic with me, in addition to writing full essays, and even understood the general grammatical structure of the language, all of which took no more than a couple of months.

However, it is necessary to keep in mind that Arabic is the second toughest language to learn after Chinese "Mandrin", meaning that expectations should be kept realistic, with time and practice being key.A year should suffice someone to be able to claim that they are at a "A1-B2" LEVEL, which is almost in the intermediate Zone.

For our classes, THREE TYPES or METHODS could be chosen from:
1- The active learning extensive Method
2- The "school" Method
3- The "specific university subject tutoring" Method.

1- For the first and second methods, i will usually devise a specialized text book (Word/PDF, no need to hurt trees and print...) which will include all that we need throughout the course from necessary readings, literature, and grammar of the language. this book will be modified accordingly to the purpose of learning the language that you could clarify to me beforehand (whether academic in a specific field of science, or any other purposes...)

2- However, if your goal is purely conversation, and does not include learning proper Arabic (Fusha), the method of teaching differs a little. Here only the "school method" applies. Let me elaborate: In schools, we are taught to read and write "MUM, DAD" before we learn our ABCs, Thus "conversation" will be the main focus, accompanied by brief and on the surface piecing of the principles of the grammar, punctuation, and other related aspects whenever a new one is at hand.

3-Finally, if you are studying any of the Arts or Majors in University, and you need specific help concerning Arabic Subjects (Ba. Master. PHD levels), specific short classes, through the third method, will be offered, and through which we can: answer all your question, explain anything that you are having trouble with, and specific help that could also be offered according to your needs.

Customized acting classes.

I offer acting classes for anyone who wants to learn to act or speak in front of an audience or camera. My focus is to work with you towards your specific goals. Would you like to gain more confidence on stage or in front of a group, learn how to bring a monologue to life, or do you long to explore and develop your acting possibilities?

My focus is on developing a relaxed, safe and enjoyable atmosphere in which different playing styles can be tried and you can develop your skills optimally.
Both for those who are working with a monologue for the first time and for the seasoned (amateur) player who could use a new perspective.
We work at different levels: text analysis, execution, body and voice.

I am an actress, theater maker and director and have been working as a coach and teacher for eight years.

Do you feel insecure when speaking in front of groups? Do you feel you could have more fun speaking in front of groups? Are you afraid that the content of what you say will be lost?

Many people find it quite difficult to speak in front of groups. You may have heard the advice 'imagine everyone's in their underpants', but it didn't help (or you probably won't be reading this text).
Maybe you don't find public speaking all that difficult or scary, but you think you can get a lot more out of it.

I would like to help you become a better, more relaxed and open speaker. The coaching is completely tailored to your needs and needs, but we work, for example, on preparing, analyzing and/or writing a text, body posture and language, use of voice and empathy.

I was trained as an actress and singer, two subjects that give me a lot of baggage and inspiration when coaching public speaking. I have more than 8 years of experience as a coach and teacher.

I specialize in coaching individuals in how to present themselves on stage or before a group. My goal is to focus on your own specific goals and help you develop your skills. Whether you need to speak in public for work or school, or just want to get rid of stage fright before giving that wedding speech, I can help you better yourself and gain confidence!
We work on different levels: analyzing and/or writing text, performing, body language and voice.
I have a strong background in singing and acting and have been working as a teacher, coach and director for over years.
