I studied Latin in high school and both in my Bachelor and Master at the University of Bologna, historically recognized as the best Italian university for Latin learning. Contrary to popular belief, learning Latin is not like learning the phone book by heart. I offer you Latin lessons that are unlike any other. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you take the train back and forth every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Learn the schedules by heart. 2) Note that the train arrives every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in study notebooks and in ordinary courses, it is the first approach which is adopted - in the courses that I offer you, it is the second because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both students and adults who want to learn the Latin language or deepen their knowledge without time-consuming detours through the insanities of school methods which do not produce results. Learning is easy but unlearning what has become a bad habit is extremely difficult. All the more important it is to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning in a positive state of mind. I offer individual or group Latin lessons (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive sciences and in particular historical linguistics. What will not be the subject of the course: learn lists of verbs; learn lists of nouns with their gender; learn words with their translations; memory card game; doing school exercises; follow the program in a notebook; impose French grammar on the Latin language. What matters to me in particular: motivate my student and give him a learning rhythm; encourage creativity; make friends with language; letters and their sounds strengthen your memory by working on the phonological loop; teach construction plans instead of having people learn sentences by heart; explain how the language works to make my student independent as quickly as possible; breaking preconceived ideas such as the gammatical gender would have a link with the biological gender, the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, the verbs would be irregular, the declension would be random and therefore to be learned with each verb... ; place practice at the center and articulate grammar around practice. Latin is a rather subtle language and for some, almost enigmatic, as the style, vocabulary and syntax can be confusing. However, all it takes is a little "Ariadne's thread" to find your way through this labyrinth for the uninitiated. Don't panic! A practical method exists that will put you at ease when faced with any Latin challenge. The delicate syntax of this language will no longer be a torture for you and you might even find it fun to practice reading and understanding texts that previously seemed inaccessible or even hermetic to you. Reading, analyzing, understanding, and translating a Latin text is possible. And even - why not? - writing in Latin. As an experienced teacher, I offer you supervision (online or at home) taking into account the learner's level and adopting the most appropriate method for adequate monitoring. Online, the sessions will be recorded, if the listener wishes, and the video will be available for revision. You will have the rigor that this ancient language requires, today more current than ever. Declension, conjugation, syntax will always be a passion for you, by following the method that we propose to improve your level. You will soon translate texts from Latin to French (version) and from French to Latin (theme) in a simple and effective way. If you are an intermediate (non-exam) student, looking to upgrade and fill the gaps that could potentially hinder you in the exam class, you will find the skills and experience competition to be sure to meet the challenge. We have already supervised auditors online or in person with satisfactory results, using a method centered on the learner and taking into account their abilities and limitations. We proceed with a flexible method according to the level of development of the auditor/learner to avoid any dropout that may arise from reluctance or apprehension. For you non-Latinists wishing to acquire knowledge in Latin for various uses or objectives, this course will allow you to have a good introduction to this classical language. You will now be able to read and understand simple to complex structures, access texts independently to increase your general knowledge or achieve your objectives according to the needs or requirements of your activity.

I am a student of Classical Philology at the University of Valencia, with great teaching skills and ease of explanations. Latin, Ancient Greek, English and Spanish are the foundations of the study of the humanities in Spain. Classical languages are essential to be able to understand our language and a great help in learning other languages. My teaching methodology is to consolidate the foundations of the subject with simple but well-explained examples, with the aim of improving the understanding of languages from their roots.

You will be prepared for public exams (A levels, GCSE, American SATS, Common Entrance) in French, Spanish, Linguistics (English) and Latin (up to Common Entrance) to a high standard. For those not taking exams, you will be taught via grammar and reading, which assures quick progression. You are welcome to bring your own material to explore with the tutor or your school prep. I do not write essays for students but provide a high degree of research to allow you to shine in your project or chosen module.

The Hebrew course is structured as follows: 1. Initial Assessment Needs assessment: Identify learners’ goals and their initial level of proficiency. Level test: Administer a placement test to determine the level of each learner. 2. Course Planning Learning Objectives: Define clear and measurable objectives for each module of the course. Lesson plan: Develop a detailed plan with a logical progression of lessons. 3. Introduction to the Alphabet and Phonetics Hebrew Alphabet: Teach letters and their sounds, including writing and recognition exercises. Pronunciation: Practice Hebrew-specific sounds through audio exercises and repetitions. 4. Basic Vocabulary Initial themes: Introduce basic vocabulary by theme (greetings, family, food, etc.). Practical exercises: Use flashcards, games and interactive activities to reinforce vocabulary. 5. Basic Grammar Grammatical structures: Teach fundamental grammatical structures such as articles, pronouns, and present tense conjugation of verbs. Grammar exercises: Provide written and oral exercises to practice new structures. 6. Conjugation of Verbs Common verbs: Learn the conjugation of the most used verbs in the present, past and future. Conjugation tables: Use tables and exercises to make it easier to memorize verb forms. 7. Sentence Construction Syntax: Teach the structure of simple sentences and then complex sentences. Oral and written practice: Encourage students to construct their own sentences orally and in writing. 8. Oral and Written Comprehension Listening exercises: Use dialogues and audio recordings to develop oral comprehension. Simple reading: Introduce short and simple texts to work on written comprehension. 9. Conversational Practice Role plays: Organize role plays and simulations to practice the language in a real context. Guided discussions: Lead discussions on various topics to encourage oral expression. 10. Ratings and Feedback Ongoing Assessments: Use quizzes, assignments, and mini-tests to track student progress. Regular feedback: Provide constructive and personalized feedback to help students improve. 11. Culture and Context Cultural immersion: Integrate elements of Israeli culture (history, traditions, festivals) into the course. Cultural activities: Organize cultural events, film screenings and discussions on cultural aspects. 12. Courses for beginners and intermediates. Learn cursive Hebrew writing, vocabulary, grammar, speaking. Learn to read basic texts, write answers to comprehension questions, write short topics. Introduction to reading press articles. I can provide an introduction to Yiddish, Arabic Judeo. In these courses, for beginners, I mainly start by teaching cursive writing and the correct pronunciation of all Hebrew letters as well as vowels and vocalization. You will learn Latin the way it was meant to be learned - through conversation! Medieval scholars and contemporary language researchers alike advocate the use of dialogues and comprehensible input for language acquisition, and it most certainly works! As opposed to the "memorise grammar rules and then babble them in front of the class" approach that was demonstrated by the infamous "Romanēs eunt domus" scene from Monty Python's "The Life of Brian", you will learn to feel the grammar, so that you will be able to use the different cases of Latin without even thinking about it, just like a native speaker! For this class we will be using the following books, depending on the learner's level: Hans Øreberg's "Lingua Latīna per sē Illustrāta" "Corderiī Colloquia" Erasmus Rask's "Colloquia Familiaria" John C. Traupman Conversational Latin for Oral Proficiency I will be the collocutor and I will answer the learner's questions and explain certain oddities solely in Latin (I will use a second language only when the situation calls for it) We will also engage in free-form conversations, discussions of the dialogues, of our life experiences etc so that the learner can apply what they learn to real-life situations and expand their vocabulary

An introduction to the basic syntactic and grammatical phenomena of the ancient Greek language. We use texts from the ancient Greek Literature (Ancient Greek History, Tragedies and Myths) as well as the Bible or Byzantine Hymnology in order to better understand the structure and way of thinking of the Greek language. The course is addressed to anyone who either has or doesn't have a knowledge of the Greek language. It is built as a personalized course, based on each student's level, motivation and learning needs.
