About Me
Give of his person
Dynamic and interested, I wish to put at your disposal all my skills.
Being a law student, the position of private teacher would ensure my financial independence, as well as a vision of the active life.
Having given French lessons throughout the year to a young student of the 3rd year, the desire to help others and to make the most of my qualifications seems to have become indispensable to my personal evolution.
Hello everyone !
My name is Sarah, I am 21 years old and I am currently a student in Anglo American law at the University of Cergy Pontoise for 3 years now. The second year of law has been quite difficult for me, so I decided to redouble, but next year, I finally have the opportunity to finish my license. My professional goal is to become a Police Officer or Gendarmerie Officer, I follow different courses to form a precise idea.
However, the profession of teacher has always interested me, that's why I registered not only on Anacours but also on Apprentices, to be able to realize a part of this professional commitment. Indeed, the choice between law studies and literary studies was quite difficult.
Regarding my experience as a teacher, I had the chance to practice this year with a student of 3rd, near my university. We had classes at his home for 1h30 or 2h per week, Wednesday afternoon at 16h. The main objective was to prepare the French patent.
During 5 months, we managed to make up for a huge delay: delay which appeared in the following way:
- many misspellings
- methodological problems (writing, imagination)
- gap in grammar (and / is; é or er; conjugation in general ...)
- lack of self-confidence
- lack of work and organization
Faced with all these problems, I decided to work methodically.
Teaching is not just about doing exercises: you have to work step by step, have patience, rigor and encourage the student: which is not easy for a teacher in charge 30 students in class.
I have, at times, been demanding and firm with this student but it has borne fruit since today, it has enriched its vocabulary of a hundred words through many dictations, she knows Maupassant, Baudelaire, Orwell ... she is able to write a writing of thirty lines with care, method and rigor, not to mention that the number of misspellings has been in free fall. She knows now that BFM TV remains THE reference to be able to give the best examples and show its know-how.
I was very proud of her, simply because she played the game even though the required homework was not always done. This has been my best experience in teaching and I want to reiterate it with you!
The feeling between the teacher and the student is very important: so I established a climate of trust between us: you know, exchange emails and phone number, small break 5 minutes ect.
Mom was aware at the end of each class of the following:
- Did she do the homework? and if not, why?
- what did we do during the session?
- what needs to be deepened?
- what duties does she have to do for the next session?
In case the mother was busy, I always left a note inside the student's notebook.
After this long description, I think you will understand why the sentence that best describes me is "Give of one's person"; simply because my goal is the success of your child.
Do not hesitate to contact me; I hope that my next schedule will allow me to be available as much as I have been for this student.
