About Me

As a student of Astronomy, I am always keen to learn about nature and understand the world surrounding me and to share this knowledge with others. That is why I have decided to teach young students how to think properly, how to rely on their reasoning and how to truly "understand" physics.

I have taught at the Inholland University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam (Chemistry). Do homework and give tutoring. In addition, I am currently supervising students from an International School.

Math: I am a graduate of the Department of Mathematics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Currently, I am doing my master's in Algebra Geometry and Number Theory. In my 6 years of experience, I can tutor every subject in the area of Mathematics and Computer Science and I specialize in the subjects of Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, Algorithms for high-school and university level.

Cooking: This class is for both those who are afraid of causing an accident in the kitchen and those who wish to impress with tasty and easy recipes. The focus will be given on basic cooking skills and food preparation, low-budget and fast cooking perfect for small households or students.

Greek: As a native Greek speaker and a University graduate I can teach grammar, vocabulary and writing skills in Greek as well as speaking. The lesson can be taught either in English or if preferred just in Greek.

Teaching is a skill and I'm passionate about it. I've taught Mathematics and English to 7&8 year old children for 2 years in Eindhoven. I can find creative ways to explain complicated concepts for children. If you need Maths or English lessons for children, I'll be glad to help :)

I have worked as a high school math teacher since 2006 in different countries. I have been teaching mainly the UK curriculum.

I encourage learning by using a number of different manipulatives, hands-on activities, and various forms of technology. By incorporating discussions, open-ended questions, and cooperative learning I am able to facilitate a highly interactive and inquisitive learning atmosphere.

In addition, I utilize weekly quizzes and monthly tests to track student progress, locate areas of weakness, and prepare students for finals exams.

I studied the University of Mathematics and I have an experience of over 7 years in teaching mathematics to children. I'm passionate about children's development and mathematics, hence I'm combining the two to motivate children and to explain through various methods adjusted to their way of thinking and understanding.
I also have experience with students willing to go for the Toelatingsonderzoek 21+ (Wiskunde B, HAVO) and able to get them started from the basics when needed.

Majority of my previous students were admitted and graduated universities around the world, on topics that have mathematics as a background (e.g. architecture, construction engineering).
I'm currently working for a software company, but I'm willing to dedicate the afternoons/weekends to supporting kids learn and develop.

In day to day life especally in technical related subjects you will find practical use of the Pythagoras theorem. For example a carpenter when a house is being build, who uses the 3,4,5 rules to allign doors and window 90 degees straight up.

How does this work? The carpenter prepares three beams with lenghts 3, 4 and 5 meter, or other lengths with the same ratio like 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 meter. How does he use these beams to align the door or window?

He creates a triangle with 1.5m vertical, 2 m horizontal and 2.5 meter sloped.

What do you see. The 1.5m length beam is exactly straight up, and can be used to align the door or window to the correct position.

I grew up in-between Mexico and the Netherlands and completed a bilingual education in English and Spanish. I passed my GCSE examinations after Grade 10 and attained a final score of 42/45 points in the IB in 2021. After graduating from a United World College, I move to The Hague to study at Leiden University, where I obtained a BA in International Law (summa cum laude).

I started tutoring at 14, but only began doing it regularly four years later at the IB level. My professional experience has also included college-level student assistantships. My approach to learning is influenced by my own diverse background. I have studied under different systems in the Mexico, the Netherlands and France, which allowed me to experiment with various learning methods and discover what works and what doesn't. When it comes to the IB, I especially understand how to structure written assignments (including IAs, TOK essay and the EE) and have several tips to achieve the highest results.
