I have experience in tutoring Mathematics to students from Years 7 and 8, and also have worked with pupils in a primary school. I attended training sessions to find the easiest way for young students to wrap their minds around Mathematical functions and hence I am confident in enabling the young ones to find the easiest method to work with. I achieved a Grade 9 at GCSE for both English Language and English Literature. Furthermore, I achieved a Grade 8 at GCSE Mathematics and continued to take it at A Level. My goal is to help students to identify the areas that they struggle with and support them until they are confident to handle questions instead of being intimidated by it.

About Me

I have experience in tutoring young students as I have previously been a Maths Mentor at Babington Academy and also a Number Partner at Brocks Hill Primary School. I understand how to tackle problems in a simple way and help students understand difficult concepts by breaking them down into simpler ideas.

In a former career, I saw how much trouble my favourite subject caused so many.
I teach secondary maths up to age 18
My full time teaching career was largely involved with those that had failed at school or had little schooling
My passion is to overcome the low esteem and fear many students feel regarding maths. I want them all to develop a positive attitude to it and to succeed. For those already enjoying maths, I aim to develop their skills to the maximum.

In this Maths class, we aim to complete all the topics that cover KS3 for years 7, 8 and 9. We will go according to the pace of each student and within the duration of the class will aim to help run through notes that were taken in class alongside helping the student complete any pending homework for that class.

The topics that will be covered will be according to what they are being taught in their class and these will include the following:

-Algebra
-Shapes, Trigonometry & Angles
-Perimeter, Area & Volume
-Percentages, Fractions & Decimals
-Ratios
-Distance, Speed & Time
-Data Handling

The student must bring their own stationery, a note book to take notes, their class book if they have it, any homeworks that are pending for that class. If the student is joining near an exam term then they must bring any past papers with them that they have.

I specialise in tutoring mathematics and English for school and the GRE and GMAT exams. My goal is to keep students challenged, but not overwhelmed. I assign homework after every lesson and provide periodic progress reports.
I am able to explain in several different methods for better understanding.

I have been working as a 1-2-1 tutor for both Maths and English for Keystage 2 since 2008. I try to keep my lessons fun, engaging, and challenging. I can assign homework if this is required or am happy to work through issues during my teaching sessions. I encourage reading for personal pleasure and development.

At its core, it is important to enjoy a subject but you may find essay writing slightly difficult due to lack of structure, cohesion with points and lack of contextualisation with societal, religious and reformative ideas relevant to the time period being covered in the essay in a systematically analytical manner. You might be either unaware of these contextual points to cover or more importantly, may not know by which structure to infuse them into your essay.

More specifically, graphs, charts and tables may offer useful links to time, fractions, ratio and proportion. It is important that such connections are made explicit, and that pupils have a chance to use statistics in other topic areas as well.
