With this course, for beginners or a little more advanced, you will be able to improve your level of English and improve it. Any level from beginner to intermediate is accepted. Spelling, speaking, grammar, reading, whatever the student needs to improve is doable.

I am an associate researcher in Italian archaeology at Lausanne University with experience in teaching Italian to foreigners. I have the CEDILS certificate to teach Italian to foreigners, issued by the Itals’ Laboratory of the Ca ‘Foscari University of Venice. I love to learn new languages and have always been aware of the importance of these skills in my personal development. I spent many years abroad for my studies in archaeology. This gave me the opportunity to meet different people and cultures from all over the world, and allowed me find my own way of teaching my language. When teaching Italian, I draw on all experiences that I have accumulated, in order to develop the academic and personal strengths of each student. I apply a student-centered, holistic approach with a focus on oral and written foreign language proficiency in a strong conversational curriculum. Contrary to popular belief, learning Latin is not like learning the phone book by heart. I offer you Latin lessons that are unlike any other. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you take the train back and forth every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Learn the schedules by heart. 2) Note that the train arrives every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in study notebooks and in ordinary courses, it is the first approach which is adopted - in the courses that I offer you, it is the second because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both students and adults who want to learn the Latin language or deepen their knowledge without time-consuming detours through the insanities of school methods which do not produce results. Learning is easy but unlearning what has become a bad habit is extremely difficult. All the more important it is to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning in a positive state of mind. I offer individual or group Latin lessons (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive sciences and in particular historical linguistics. What will not be the subject of the course: learn lists of verbs; learn lists of nouns with their gender; learn words with their translations; memory card game; doing school exercises; follow the program in a notebook; impose French grammar on the Latin language. What matters to me in particular: motivate my student and give him a learning rhythm; encourage creativity; make friends with language; letters and their sounds strengthen your memory by working on the phonological loop; teach construction plans instead of having people learn sentences by heart; explain how the language works to make my student independent as quickly as possible; breaking preconceived ideas such as the gammatical gender would have a link with the biological gender, the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, the verbs would be irregular, the declension would be random and therefore to be learned with each verb... ; place practice at the center and articulate grammar around practice.
