I'm an economist with two master's degrees, including an MA in Economics from the University of Chicago, and two years as a full-time research assistant on development and education projects with academic economists. I teach microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics at bachelor's and master's level, from first-year intuition to graduate-level proofs and identification strategies.

I focus on making things click rather than memorising: we work through your own problem sets, past exams or thesis, and I explain the reasoning behind each step so you can reproduce it alone. For econometrics, I also teach Stata and R hands-on, from data cleaning to regressions, panel methods, IV and difference-in-differences, and I can help you write up results for a thesis or a paper.

Typical students: UNIL, HEC, EPFL and UNIGE undergraduates preparing for exams, master's students working on applied econometrics or a thesis, and adults wanting a structured introduction to economics. Sessions are in English, French or Russian, in person in Lausanne / Geneva or online.

First session: we identify exactly where you're losing points and build a plan around it.

About Me
I've spent the last eight years studying and doing economics, most recently as a full-time research assistant to academic economists working on education, inequality and conflict. I know what it feels like to sit in front of a proof or a regression output and not see why it works, because I've been there, and I know what finally made it click. That's what I try to reproduce when I teach.

My style is patient and structured. We start from where you actually are, not where the syllabus says you should be, and we work on your own material: your problem sets, your past exams, your thesis data. I'd rather spend twenty minutes on the one idea that's blocking you than race through a chapter. I explain the reasoning behind each step so that by the end you can do it without me. I'm also comfortable with students who are anxious about maths or have fallen behind; there's no judgement, only a plan.

I enjoy working with motivated bachelor's and master's students who want to understand the material rather than just pass, and with adults returning to economics for work or curiosity. Sessions in English, French or Russian, in Lausanne or online.

Hello !

My name is Anaïs, I am 27 years old and I have a Master's degree in Law and Economics from HEC Lausanne. I worked as a teaching assistant for three years, first at EHL, then at HEC Lausanne. These experiences reinforced my passion for teaching.

I aspire to become a secondary school teacher of economics and law. It is therefore quite natural that I want to offer tutoring in these subjects.

What I particularly enjoy is explaining concepts that may seem complicated or too abstract at first glance, trying to make them simpler, more concrete and above all easier to understand.

I also really appreciate the human aspect of teaching. Every student is different and doesn't necessarily have the same way of understanding or learning. Therefore, I place great importance on taking the time to get to know the person I'm working with, in order to find study methods that truly suit them and that they can maintain afterward.

I am a bubbly, positive, and attentive person. I like to create an atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing any difficulties they may have. My goal is to make lessons interesting and tailored to each individual, so they can better retain the concepts covered and, above all, progress at their own pace.

Finally, I completed all my schooling, both compulsory and post-compulsory, in Switzerland and therefore know the Swiss school system well.
