About Me

Teaching guitar is more than sharing techniques—it's about guiding each student to connect with music personally and emotionally. I’m a patient, encouraging teacher who believes that anyone can develop musical skills, regardless of their starting point. I focus on creating a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and exploring their interests.
For beginners and children, I ensure lessons are engaging and paced according to their individual needs, using simple songs and exercises to build confidence and enjoyment. My teaching style combines foundational skills with creative play, so students understand music both technically and emotionally.

I began my musical journey at a young age, discovering a passion for both art and music that led me to complete art school, where I developed foundational skills and a deep appreciation for creative expression. Later, I furthered my education in college, focusing on additional studies.

Folk or classical acoustic guitar.

The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation.

For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...).

For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...).

Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques. The objectives take into consideration the following points:

-Study of various playing techniques, chords, harmony, music of your choice, rhythm, with reading of tablature, teaching structured around the repertoire you like, technique of developing the musical ear
- Discovery of the neck, notes and basic positions of open chords
- Left / right hand coordination and rhythm exercises for the right hand
- Learning of different pieces of your choice
- Left hand control exercises, speed and precision
- Learning arpeggios
- Work around muscle memory
- Learning improvisation, musical play with others
- Ear training: use your ears to find chords, melodies, sounds and techniques used

I teach with a solid classical base (position, left/right hand technique) while giving the student basics of harmony (chords, song accompaniment), improvisation (scales, blues, etc.) and solo (polyphonic) or duo pieces. I am open to all proposals from the student.

Whether you are an adult or younger, did you know that with the proper methods, follow-up and advice, you can reach in 2 years the equivalent of what is achieved in 10 years in music school? The passion and pleasure of playing will quickly make you forget the minimum 1h30 of daily practice necessary for this beautiful and pleasant feat. This is the challenge I set myself by offering you these courses.

Practicing classical guitar for 27 years, graduated from the National Conservatory of Limoges, I teach guitar (beginner to advanced levels).

My method is distinguished by a perfect combination of high standards and attention paid to the pleasure of playing.

Passionate about music theory (rhythms, musical notations and other aspects that seem tedious to many), I know how to transmit this taste for musical technique.

The pleasure of play develops when you feel your progress, and these come with regular work. I therefore ask for attendance and regularity of at least 1 hour of practice per day. Depending on the students, the frequency of lessons can be bi-weekly or bi-monthly, and will be defined together, while remaining flexible.

I can also advise you on the purchase of a classical guitar.

Note: the practice of the classical guitar requires short nails on the left hand, and nails overflowing just beyond the tip of the finger, on the right hand, at all times. This allows an inimitable sound quality.

Student at the Lausanne music school, I offer guitar, bass or saxophone lessons.
My experience playing in very varied ensembles and styles (chamber music, metal groups, rock, funk, Cuban, gospel, tango, orchestras, big jazz band, etc.) and with various musical instruments has allowed me to allowed us to develop a versatile musical approach.
I followed a classical conservatory course in guitar and saxophone, then I turned to writing, jazz and contemporary music.
I am currently studying Jazz Bass, classical double bass and jazz piano at the Lausanne High School of Music (HEMU).
At the same time, I worked as a teacher and researcher in acoustics in different universities.
During my lessons, I guide the student through a progressive and structured educational approach while guiding him or her in learning pieces that correspond to their objectives. Hello! My name is Yann, I am a young 27-year-old professional musician with a Master's degree in Jazz Performance from the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne.

I want to help you develop tools to analyze and interpret your favorite music, and create your own!
