English course for students of all levels, experienced teacher

From 62 C$ /h

Graduate student of a bachelor of English Letters and Translation, bilingual (English mother tongue), and having already given courses, I offer English courses for all levels, adapted to the needs and priorities of the student.
I base my classes around the student: no student will have the same teaching. This is the advantage of the private lessons! I rely on his preferences (a structured or less formal education ...) and on his priorities (improve his accent, his written comprehension, acquire the bases or improve himself for an examination ...). I try to base my lessons at the maximum on playful supports and in agreement with the interests of the pupil.
I offer the first class to discuss all this and to see with the student which direction we will take!

I can also focus my teaching on disciplines such as translation, writing, or pronunciation improvement, for more advanced students.

About Me

I am 23 years old, native French and English, I always liked to share my love for this language. I am a teacher's daughter and I have worked with children and adolescents since the beginning of my studies, having been an au pair, a summer camp facilitator, and a childcare provider. I like teaching to bring to my student something different from his school education, which sadly often leaves behind children or teens who have a different mode of operation. I like to bring to the student a learning method adapted to his personality and his level, and my goal is to be always listening, to accompany him, and to give him confidence in his abilities. There is no bad student, only unsuitable teaching methods, and my passion is to find the methods that will work with you!

Education

Graduate of English and translation, I graduated in 2016 at the University of Sorbonne Nouvelle. I am currently preparing my entry to the Master of English Specialization in Literary Translation at UNIL in September.

Experience / Qualifications

I taught with Acadomia to students from 9 to 17, from beginner to advanced level. I was also a teacher during summer internships in this same structure, where I had small groups of 5 students.

My name is Noreen, I'm a second-year bachelor's student at HEC Lausanne, and I tutor elementary school students. I'm passionate about sharing the many learning techniques I've developed, and I would be delighted to use them to help students progress with confidence. Patient and calm by nature, I don't hesitate to rephrase or re-explain concepts several times so that each student can understand at their own pace. Lessons can be conducted in either French or English, depending on your needs. I look forward to meeting you and discussing your goals!

As a Political Economy student at the University of Fribourg, with a high school diploma in Biology and Chemistry, I offer in-home tutoring tailored to each student's level. I help students with homework, test and exam preparation, and also provide supplementary lessons to address specific gaps in knowledge or reinforce learning.

Fluency, pronunciation and impeccable writing in English.
My tutoring services also extend to History, Mathematics, Economics and Law, and Biology and Chemistry.

Serious, punctual, motivated, and dedicated, I strive to motivate students, providing structure and study methods to help them become more independent. In math, I love finding solutions and strategies, and I can help with reading and understanding problems, which are often a source of difficulty for students who otherwise have great potential in mathematics.

I offer academic support and homework help in science subjects (mathematics, physics, chemistry, etc.). I obtained my scientific Baccalaureate with highest honors in 2024 and I am in my second year of engineering at EPFL.

Before each lesson, I like to glance at the chapter or exercises to refresh my memory on certain theorems or formulas if necessary. This allows me to arrive prepared and explain the concepts clearly and in a structured way.

During the lesson, I guide your child step by step, taking the time to re-explain concepts, review the basics if necessary, and help them gain confidence. My goal is not just to solve the exercises, but above all to ensure they truly understand what they are doing and gradually become more independent.

Hello! / Bonjour ! / Ciao! / Merhaba!

Are you looking to improve your English for university, career advancement, school exams, or everyday conversation? I am here to help you reach your goals with personalized, engaging, and highly effective lessons.

I am a Master's student at UNIL, holding a BA in English Literature and the Cambridge CELTA certification. I have over 5 years of professional teaching experience working with children, teenagers, and adults across all language levels (A1 to C2).

Because I speak French, Italian, and Turkish, I understand how different native speakers learn English and also have difficulties learning it. I can easily explain tricky grammar rules using comparisons you will actually understand!

What I Offer:
Academic Support: Help with school homework, gymnastics/maturité prep, or UNIL/EPFL university assignments.

Exam Preparation: Focused training for Cambridge (PET, FCE, CAE), IELTS, or TOEFL exams.

Conversation & Fluency: Boosting your confidence, perfecting your pronunciation, and expanding your vocabulary.

Business & Professional English: Interview prep, resume polishing, and professional presentation skills.

My Teaching Approach:
- No two students are the same. I tailor every single lesson to your specific pace, interests, and goals. I focus on creating a supportive, interactive environment where you feel completely comfortable making mistakes and growing your confidence.

Lessons can take place online, at the UNIL campus, or at a convenient location in Lausanne. Feel free to send me a message to discuss your goals. Let's make learning English enjoyable and stress-free!

Bilingual German-English, of Swiss German origin and having lived and worked in Germany for several years, I offer private or small group lessons for adults and/or children, for both languages, German and English.

- Beginner course for adults
- Conversation classes for all levels, all ages
- Children's classes
- Academic support for schoolchildren up to 11th grade Harmos, based on their school materials
- Prepare tests, practice vocabulary
- One-off support courses
- ...or according to your needs.

I regularly give private lessons and teach small groups in a private school.

I have taught my children all school subjects for more than 2 years. I am therefore familiar with the school curriculum of the canton of Vaud and am very motivated to transmit these two beautiful languages and to see the progress of my students. One of my priorities is to make the student comfortable speaking and, especially in the school setting, to have more fun learning.
For adult classes, we will discuss your needs before the first class and decide on the program together.

Lessons at the student's home (in the vicinity of Prilly) and distance learning are also possible.

Mathematics, physics, English, and French can seem difficult without the right foundation or method. With extensive experience working with students of all ages, from young children to high school and university students, I have designed my lessons as a personalized support system, adapted to each student's level and pace.
You will solidify your foundational knowledge, fill in any gaps, better understand challenging concepts, and gain confidence and independence when tackling exercises and exams. My goal is to make each subject accessible by adapting to each student's learning style.

Allegra

Hello! My name is Allegra and I currently live in Lausanne. I am Italian and I offer language exchanges in Italian, but also in English, which I speak fluently after living in the United States.
The idea behind a language exchange is first and foremost to practice a language naturally, through conversation and everyday interactions. It's not necessarily a traditional lesson, but rather a pleasant opportunity to speak, ask questions, correct mistakes, and gain confidence in speaking. I can adapt to each person's level and needs, whether it's to improve conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, or simply to have the chance to practice regularly.
I already have experience in this area, particularly with children living abroad in Italian or American families. I have worked with children who wanted to maintain contact with their parents' language and practice it in a natural and fun way. Therefore, I also offer conversation sessions for children, tailored to their age and level.
I am a responsible, reliable, and patient person, and I enjoy creating a relaxed atmosphere where learning can take place without pressure. I am primarily available in the late afternoon and on weekends.
Looking forward to getting to know you and chatting with you!

Hi, I'm Diana!
I'm a Master's student with advanced English (IELTS 8.0), and I'm currently learning French and Korean, so I know what it's like to be a language learner. I'm studying for a Master in Hospitality Management at EHL in Lausanne, and my engineering background helps me explain things clearly, step by step.
I've traveled to 40+ countries, so my lessons focus on real-life English for travel, work, and study. I'll help you build confidence in speaking and listening, with sessions tailored to your goals, whether that's IELTS prep or just feeling comfortable in conversation.
Friendly, patient, and practical. Let's get you speaking with confidence!
