I specialize in working with students who find learning a language challenging. I begin by identifying each student’s individual learning style and then tailor lessons to make the content relevant and engaging. As a result, lessons can vary widely: we might take a stroll and grab a coffee while practicing conversation, analyze a short video for comprehension, or focus intensively on improving recurring grammar issues. Lessons can take place at my home in La Hulpe, or I’m happy to travel within the surrounding area. Online sessions via Zoom, Teams, or Skype are also available.

I accept students of all ages and backgrounds but specialize in two areas: supporting academic success for children and teenagers, and refining language use for executives or specific business environments. I also help students prepare intensely for specific language exams.

I do accept groups but only up to two students. I provide information and material to each lesson in advance, my lessons are well-organised and I like to suggest weekly tasks (if accepted).

About Me
Born and raised in Austria, I am a native German speaker who has lived in English-speaking countries for over 20 years. Today, I think, read, and write in English. At home, I speak English with my wife and German with my twin daughters - both languages feel native to me now. Living in Belgium, any with my wife being Belgian, I also speak basic French and, due to the similarity with German, I understand Flemish quite well.

My career began in the luxury hospitality industry, which brought me to live in the US and later the UK, before I transitioned into the charitable sector and advocacy for new economic policy. Currently, I am working on a non-fiction book (in English) that explores themes in sociology and economic philosophy.

I have a genuine love for languages and how they shape our understanding of the world. In addition to teaching, I am an avid reader of history and philosophy, which continually enriches my approach to language instruction.

With a strong passion for helping others navigate the complexities of language learning, I specialise in creating engaging, tailored lessons that focus on very specific areas of need, allowing students to make quick and tangible progress.

Experience / Qualifications
I’m almost proud to say that I don’t have any formal teaching qualifications; I have developed my teaching skills through practice and independent research. I started by helping my children, then extended my teaching to other family members. After seeing tangible results and receiving great feedback, I decided to offer private lessons :)
