Speaking English is a necessary skill in today's workplace. However, most learners encounter significant difficulties with this language – difficulties that could be avoided by slightly changing the way it is taught.
As a professional in English (I have translated more than 20 novels for publishing), I know this language intimately, its workings, its mechanisms, and I teach another way of understanding it.
My courses are aimed at primary school children, middle school and high school students, and range from remedial work to support in more advanced exercises such as text analysis or writing.

About Me
I have a literary background. Not just because I'm terrible at math ;), no, because of a genuine love of languages. My aptitude for French and my deep love for English led me to study English Literature and Civilization (I earned my Master's degree with highest honors) and then to a career as a literary translator. I've translated over 20 novels to date. I therefore have a very nuanced understanding of the intricacies of this language, which allows me to see where and why most learners struggle.

I can work with different types of audiences: young learners (primary), students (middle school, high school), university students who struggle with literary analysis or translation, adults wishing to improve.

Kind, patient, and able to adapt my communication style to the needs of my students, I am very dedicated, both during and outside of class. Therefore, I expect my students to be open-minded, willing, and diligent.

I can't wait to show you that English, honestly, "isn't that hard". :)

To translate well, you have to know how to read. To read between the lines. To understand why the author chose to use this word, this phrase rather than another. To be able to feel and analyze the effect, the impression, the music of their sentences.

As a translator for publishing for over 20 years, I help higher education students (English LLCER, translation schools, etc.) to improve their approach to texts, to better understand them and thus, better render them in another language.

This course is for English enthusiasts, future teachers, interpreters, translators, who want to learn to translate from English to French like pros, or to delve into the heart of a literary text to extract its essence. ;o)
