Established in Belgium for about 8 years, I have been giving support lessons in maths and physics to students of all secondary school classes for about twenty years.

Listening to students, their needs and their preferences is a priority for me, in order to best adapt the methodology to be used. Very enthusiastic, I can help regain lost motivation and regain self-confidence (since this is the main problem for students with regard to the subject!) I can also be very patient, and put myself 'at the level' of the pupil in particular when it comes to reviewing concepts from previous years.

Classes take place at my home 4 minutes walk from Porte de Namur (other buses, 71, 95 etc. also pass in the vicinity). My courses are aimed at all secondary school students, but also at the European school, French high school, or specific training which includes math or physics in the program.

In addition I speak several languages and can also adapt to schools teaching in a foreign language (English, Spanish, Italian)
Extra information
The pupils are invited to bring their lessons, manuals, questions and on this basis, we review together lessons and exercises, on the points which pose problems. I also give training exercises to do at home as soon as possible.

About Me
Established in Belgium for about 8 years, I have been giving private classes in maths and physics to pupils from all secondary levels during the last twenty years.

Being responsive to pupil’s needs and preferences is for me a priority, in order to tailor at best the learning methodology. Enthusiastic and passionate about the topic, I can help to retrieve motivation and regain self-confidence – as it is the main burden from students facing this topic! – I am also extremely patient and I can put myself in the shoes of the learning person, in particular when it comes to explaining concepts from previous years. From my point of view, being bad at math is in no way a fatality and it is just about your consistency in practicing and your will in succeeding.

Classes take place at my place, which is a 4-minute walking distance from a metro stop Porte de Namur, and several other buses also stop around (71, 95, 54…). I can also give classes on-line.

My classes address all secondary pupils, but also the European School, or other parallel educations that include maths and physics in the program. Students are invited to bring their lessons, books, and past exams. Based on that, we go through problematic issues, and in case or regular classes, you’ll go back with homework, with applications of what we did together.
Education
Originally from the South of France, I started my studies in mathematics at the University of Sciences in Nice, then I graduated from an Engineering School in the city of Caen. Having a passion for travels and foreign languages, and being very curious about the world, I did achieve several professional experiences abroad (The Netherlands, Italy, Portugal) before stopping in Brussels.
Experience / Qualifications
Since the obtention of my scientific baccalaureate in France, I have been giving private classes to all kinds of pupils in the different countries where I have been living, which brings me to an experience of two decades in the field. I am now 38 y/o and I am still delighted to teach maths, which I perceive as a playful and constructive activity.

My specificity lays in the fact that when I was myself at secondary school, maths was my ‘black’ topic and my marks were not good. Everything changed with time as I had an amazing teacher. There I understood that it was within my reach and I never stopped practicing since then. Thus, I perfectly understand the feeling of pupils, the challenges to overcome (again mostly psychological) and I can help them more easily, having been through this myself.

I am convinced that all pupils do have the potential to have good marks in maths or physics and that motivation, willpower, and permanent practice are the secret of success.

With years of experience as an engineer in Belgium and the Netherlands, I would like to help other students navigate the sometimes complex world of mathematics and physics. During my studies, I tutored for six years in secondary schools in the regions of The Hague, Delft, Rotterdam, and Antwerp. In doing so, I aim to review the subject matter interactively with the student and link theoretical concepts as much as possible to examples from our daily lives to prepare and motivate the student.

So if you would like tutoring on one or more subjects in mathematics or physics, you can contact me.

Welcome to my profile.
I am an experienced mathematics and science teacher with over seven years of experience helping students strengthen their understanding, improve their results and become more confident, independent learners.
My lessons are designed for students and families who value high-quality, well-prepared and personalised teaching. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all course, I adapt each lesson to the student’s level, objectives, school programme and learning style.
I teach students who need to rebuild essential foundations as well as those working on advanced topics, examinations or demanding international programmes such as the European Baccalaureate and International Baccalaureate, as well as, the various Belgian programs.

◆ MY TEACHING APPROACH ◆

• • Initial assessment • •
We begin by identifying the student’s current level, strengths, difficulties and academic objectives.

• • Personalised lesson planning • •
Each student receives a structured learning approach based on their specific needs, curriculum and pace of progress.

• • Clear and accessible explanations • •
Complex concepts are broken down into logical, manageable steps, with visual representations and carefully selected examples.

• • Active problem-solving • •
Students are encouraged to think, explain their reasoning and develop reliable methods for approaching unfamiliar questions.

• • Targeted practice • •
Exercises are selected to address specific weaknesses, consolidate knowledge and prepare effectively for tests and examinations.

• • Regular review and feedback • •
Previously studied material is revisited when necessary, and clear feedback is provided to help the student understand what has improved and what still requires attention.

◆ WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT ◆

Professionalism and reliability are central to my work:
• • Lessons prepared in advance and tailored to the student
• • Punctual and well-structured sessions
• • Patient, respectful and focused teaching
• • Clear explanations without unnecessary complication
• • Constructive and timely feedback
• • Adaptation based on the student’s progress
• • A serious learning environment that remains supportive and encouraging

My objective is not simply to help students complete exercises. I aim to help them understand the underlying concepts, develop stronger reasoning skills and gain the confidence required to work more independently.

Mathematics and science can appear difficult when important foundations are missing or when explanations are poorly adapted to the learner. With the right structure, guidance and practice, these subjects become far more logical, accessible and rewarding.

Mathematics can often feel complex and overwhelming, but with the right approach, it becomes much more manageable and even enjoyable. My goal as a tutor is to help students not only understand the material, but also find the learning method that works best for them.

I work with students at school level, SAT level, and university level, supporting them in building a strong foundation and progressing confidently through their subjects.

My teaching approach begins with identifying each student’s gaps in understanding. I then provide clear explanations using simple language, structured steps, and relatable examples. Once the concept is understood, I guide students through practice, allowing them to apply what they’ve learned and develop real confidence in problem-solving. Many of my students see improvement within a few lessons.

I also create personalized exercises tailored to each student, helping reinforce knowledge and target specific weaknesses.

Beyond improving grades, I focus on helping students:
• Gain confidence in mathematics
• Develop logical and structured thinking
• Learn how to approach problems effectively

Having worked with students from diverse backgrounds and levels, I adapt my teaching style to each individual, ensuring that every student feels supported and motivated.

My aim is not only to help students succeed academically, but also to help them better understand how they learn and approach challenges with confidence.

I am a creative, patient and adaptive primary teacher with 8 years of experience. I began teaching as a university student, volunteering in a local primary school, and fell in love with helping students feel passionate and engaged in their learning. I began my teacher training in 2017 with the Teach First programme, teaching near London. In 2019 I moved to Italy and taught there for 6 years, honing my skills in developing confident learners with a great understanding of English. Last year, I moved to Belgium to join my partner and have begun life as a tutor!

What I love most about tutoring is being able to target each lesson to the child, slowly building their confidence and focusing on the areas they need most support, helping them to feel confidence in their learning. I build their interests and strengths into each lesson so they feel engaged and supported. I have a wealth of experience supporting students with a range of SEND needs as well as English as an Additional Language.

I offer tutoring in math, physics, and chemistry at the secondary level. I can help with reviewing an entire course for an exam, as well as re-explaining a specific, poorly understood concept and then working through it with exercises. My method is based on understanding, not rote memorization: We start with a general exercise, identify areas of weakness, work on them, and then repeat until the concept is fully grasped.
