Economics can sometimes seem complicated when you see it in class with a teacher for whom everything is taken for granted, which is why, being a graduate of the Solvay Brussels School, I teach economics courses, whether microeconomics, macro economics, political economy, industrial policy, European economy etc, so that you can understand correctly and then succeed.

Mathematics is very often the most feared subject during secondary school by students. It is sometimes difficult during a classroom lesson to get the little "click" to understand how math works. Having done math 8 hours/week in secondary school and having graduated from Solvay Brussels School, I will be able to help your child get the hang of math, demonize the course and above all help them succeed in this subject.

Being a graduate of Solvay and having had 8 hours of math lessons per week during my secondary school. I offer a math class. For me the important thing is that the student feels comfortable, you have to start over with the basics and when these are acquired correctly for the future, you can move on to more complex exercises.
I work a lot with mind mapping and colors, to promote long-term visual memory.

I am a consultant at the World Bank and a postdoctoral researcher in applied econometrics at the University of Mons in Belgium. PhD in economics from the Free University of Brussels.

Between 2018 and 2024, I helped more than 300 students from all over the world* to pass their econometrics courses and/or master's theses.

ECONOMETRICS COURSE
I help students understand theoretical models (e.g. OLS, Logit, 2SLS, diff-in-diff, time series) and the interpretation of econometric results in a very pedagogical way. I helped 158 of 160 students pass their econometrics courses.

MASTER THESES and PROJECTS
I help students build the database, write the theoretical model and produce empirical results (descriptive statistics, graphs, tests and regressions) using Stata, R Studio, Gretl, E-views or Jamovi.
I also advise on dissertation structure and writing. All the students who have done their theses with me have passed. In addition, 10 of his students have won the best dissertation award.

The Economics 1 course will start with a presentation of the demand and supply economic model in order to provide an analysis of the mechanisms and inner workings of competitive markets (price determination, equilibrium quantity, etc.). It will also be the occasion to investigate the impact on the competitive equilibrium of some public policies such as price control and indirect taxation.
The course will then determine why, and under which conditions, free trade can be viewed as an efficient way to coordinate the actions of specialized economic agents. Through a careful examination of the (utopic) necessary conditions a market must fulfil so as to be considered perfectly competitive, it will be brought to the students' attention that those conditions are seldom (if ever) respected: the course will then provide an overview of several market failures, as well as study in detail several types of imperfect competition.
Finally, the question of the possibility (and the necessity) of public intervention in a market economy will remain a central focus throughout the course.

Part I: Introduction
Chapter 1: "To think like an economist" - basic concepts (Mankiw, chapitres 1 et 2)

Part II: Supply and demand - how markets work
Chapter 3: The market forces of supply and demand (Mankiw, ch. 4, ch. 5)
Chapter 4: Consumers, producers and the efficiency of markets (Mankiw, ch. 7, 8)
Chapter 5: Supply, demand and government policies (Mankiw, ch. 6)

Part III: Market failures under perfect competition
Chapter 6: Externalities (Mankiw, ch.10)
Chapter 7: Public goods and common resources (Mankiw ch. 11)

Part IV: Firm behavior in competitive markets
Chapter 8: The costs of production (Mankiw, ch. 13)
Chapter 9: Firms in competitive markets (Mankiw, ch. 14)

Part V: Imperfect competition
Chapter 10: The monopoly and other examples of imperfect compeition (Mankiw ch. 10, 11)
