I explain to my students why before asking them to memorize and practice, so that they fully understand the purpose of the lesson. I encourage them to ask questions freely so they can progress quickly, completing in two hours work that would normally take three hours, while enriching their thinking and moving away from a traditional and boring learning pace. Drawing on my professional training in Jazz Vocal at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, my background in Chinese traditional music, and years of personal practice in yoga and qigong, I have developed an organic, embodied approach to vocal expression. Rather than focusing only on vocal technique, I guide students to explore the relationship between breath, body awareness, deep listening, and the natural flow of energy (Qi).
