Passing English GCSE can seem like a daunting prospect, but with the right help it can be interesting as well as much easier! I would at first find out from the student where they feel they need support, and then run an introductory session to better understand where we need to focus. In this first session we would work together to create achievable goals to work on over the next few sessions. Lessons would then be aimed at these target areas with exam technique being factored in, as well as the knowledge needed. I'm very comfortable with the new 9-1 mark scheme having studied it only last year. I adore Shakespeare and classic novels, so I am able to help decode some of the harder texts. For younger students I can help with reading comprehension and spelling. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, learning has been disrupted greatly, but this doesn't mean learning needs to stop!

I have always enjoyed English and am able to help with analysis of literature texts with tips on how to get the top marks and ways to structure answers. I'm happy to send examples of my GCSE essays to show you what I can help with! As a young person who has just finished GCSEs I am very confident with the new 9-1 grading system and I have revision notes and tips that are relevant and up to date.
