I also offer music theory lessons and practise for aural tests in preparation for ABRSM and Trinity graded instrumental exams.

I specialise in teaching song writing and composition in all genres to any ability. In lessons we will look at harmony, melody, lyrics and if desired music production to help advance your songwriting ability.

As a songwriter and producer I have had music featured on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 and many more. I also have a masters degree in songwriting and composition from Leeds College of Music and a 1st class BA(Hons) degree in songwriting and jazz performance.

Music theory is an often daunting topic; this doesn't have to be the case! I'm confident that I can guide any pupil through from basic, all the way to advanced knowledge levels (grade 8+).

I promise to ensure that no part of my teaching will overcomplicate things. I will always give my students simple yet memorable tools to overcome any hurdles.

I know exactly how it feels to struggle with certain aspects of music theory as I have done in the past. I'm extremely friendly, calm, patient, and will always go over and above to help my pupils.

A holistic approach ensures that my students are encouraged and inspired to explore all aspects of music making from the very beginning.; active listening, improvisation, composition, ear training and rhythmic skills are used together to help to develop the whole musician and improve instrumental abilities.

I have experience teaching a wide range of people from young beginners to older professionals, and aim to develop the confidence and skills of my students in a safe and inclusive environment. I am happy to work towards grade exams, personal musical goals, conservatoire auditions, original songs/compositions, identifying together which areas we want to develop and work on and providing the necessary tools and resources to further skills. Most of all, I provide a fun and enthusiastic learning environment to make lessons enjoyable for everyone!

Lessons are available at my home in Hunslet or via Skype/Zoom. Teaching at your location will be at a higher rate based on distance and travel time.

I am a Masters qualified professional musician who is currently a senior lecturer at Leeds Conservatoire, and also have 10 years experience teaching a variety of younger age groups through award wining organisations such as Symphony Hall Birmingham, Make The Paint Dance (Leeds) and NOFA.

As a professional saxophonist with experience playing various different styles of music, I am able to accommodate for students individual interests. With a degree in Jazz Saxophone from Leeds Conservatoire, I have high technical ability and a in depth knowledge of Jazz music theory. This is supported by my gigging portfolio that has seen me perform on tour across Europe, as well as many UK festivals, and on stages with bands such as Madness and The Blockheads.

I tailor lessons to individuals, to help aid development and generate a strong passion for one's music. Music is subjective so I find it key for learning to be student led so as to keep sustained interest and generate a positive development cycle.

I'm a Leeds Conservatoire Graduate with a First-Class Degree in Popular Music - Voice Performance. Professional Singer, Musician, and Performer. My appearances include performing at the Royal Albert Hall, various Television broadcasts, 5-star luxury hotels & resorts, and high-end cocktail bars. Making me an excellent option if you want professional feedback and like to work with industry professionals.

Musical Background:
My relationship with music began at the age of 9, when I started piano lessons and soon joined my teacher’s children’s choir, quickly stepping into receiving solos. At 14, I began one-to-one vocal training, and within two years I achieved Trinity Grade 8 with Distinction, earning the Highest Mark of the Year nationally. In 2019, I completed ABRSM Grade 8 Piano, and in 2020, I was accepted with an unconditional offer to study Popular Music at the prestigious Leeds Conservatoire, where I graduated in 2024 with First-Class Honours.

My teaching technique and methodology are flexible and vary according to your learning style, aims, and goals. I have experience teaching a wide age range (6-70 years old), and I am adaptable and comfortable in teaching and tailoring lessons according to my students' experience, needs, goals, and aims. My existing students particularly highlight my communication and ability to effectively transfer knowledge, whilst at the same time having engaging, fun, and enjoyable lessons with me.

I have been professionally coaching and teaching since 2023, working with over 100 students to develop their skills in singing, piano, music theory, and songwriting.

Until recently, I was part of a teaching team at a music school in the UK, delivering one-to-one lessons. However, earlier this year I decided to pursue this independently and build my very own music coaching business, offering a more personal and flexible approach.

My teaching style is modern and student-focused. That means I take the time to talk with you about the music you like, and we create lesson plans that are not only effective for your growth, but also enjoyable and inspiring, and make you actually want to continue.
