About Me

My name is Frank, born in 1968 in Nijmegen. After a detour via Drenthe and Haarlem I finally found my home in Berkhout, near Hoorn, where I live with my family in a house that I designed myself.

After high school I followed a graphic RTO education in Haarlem, which at the time merged with the MA. My career in the creative industry started as a freelance designer and high-res visual editor, where I had the opportunity to work for almost all major advertising agencies in Amsterdam. Later my role expanded to Ad Interim manager, where I was responsible for optimizing the collaboration between the Art, Studio and Account departments.

In 1993 I decided to take the step to entrepreneurship. In 2010 I founded my own Creative Lab, "The Golden Delicious", which now works independently for large international clients.

Besides my work in advertising and creative industries, I have always had a passion for sharing knowledge. Between 1990 and 2005 I gave customized trainings in Photoshop and InDesign to companies and freelancers, with topics such as High Res Color Management, Retouching, PrePress and Digital Darkroom Development. Since 2015 I give guest lectures at the ROC in Hoorn and the MA in Amsterdam, where I share my experience in all-round Photoshop retouching and advertising/marketing. I also taught as a substitute to the Film exam class, with directing and scripting trainings.

I am proud of my versatile career and the balance I have found between creative work and my passion for education and helping you further!
