I am a qualified and experienced English primary school teacher from South Africa and have taught Foundation Stage 2 (EYFS), Year 1 and Year 2 (Key Stage 1) up to 8 years old as well as ESL (English as a Second Language for the same age groups), with the main focus being the core subjects of English and Mathematics (British Curriculum) for the last 14 years in Saudi Arabia and Dubai.

English lessons will incorporate teaching phonics, letters and sounds, tricky words (high frequency words), vocabulary, sentence construction, spelling, grammar and punctuation, as well as writing, reading and speaking and comprehension skills

Mathematics lessons will cover teaching the concepts and key skills of number and place value, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, shape and fractions as well as strategies and methods to solve problems. Concrete or pictorial representations will be provided to support students to understand abstract concepts, through mastery and then fluency.
