Hello!

I am a professional recorder and flute player with a passion for both early and contemporary music, offering lessons on the recorder, flute, piano, and music theory in the Amsterdam area and online.

I graduated with a Master's in recording at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam Cum Laude, with a scholarship from The Countess of Munster Musical Trust. Previously, I graduated from the Royal College of Music London with a First-Class Joint Honours Bachelor’s degree in Flute and Recorder. In 2021 I was a finalist for the Moeck/SRP recorder competition as part of the London Early Music Festival.

I am an encouraging and dedicated teacher who believes that effective practice, rather than talent, is at the heart of any musical development. I share my expertise in how to practice well, varying your approach to make different connections rather than just repeating things - this also helps to keep practice interesting! I am also keen to help each student find their own voice and expression through music, tailoring lessons to each student's needs and goals.

I have specialist knowledge of medieval, renaissance, and baroque music, and can help students to develop skills in historical performance and ornamentation/improvisation.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Would you like to learn the transverse flute with a new method?
This class is inspired to the Abreu method, the musical version of the Montessori teaching approach.

During the last 2 years, I have applied the Abreu method to countless scholars, with ages ranging from 8 to 70.
Results have been amazing and I really hope you can be the next!

Here's what makes it special:
- A playful approach! While learning the rules and the discipline behind music, we will boost your progress with a lot of fun. Thanks to the Abreu approach, we can master your solfeggio and play classical tracks at the same time.
- Teaching materials suitable for scholars of every level. Through many years of experience, I have collected an extremely wide range of sheets and exercises.
- During the first lesson, we schedule our work in mini-courses. This way you know exactly how much you will pay and in return for what.
- Everyone has potential and I am here to let you express it.

The instrument so often described as bird-like, angelic and pure! And you can do it too! Learn the beautiful wind instrument with me - making a nice sound, discover supported breathing technique, build good finger technique and most importantly - play beautiful music! From scales to etudes to classical pieces, you can learn it all!

I studied classical flute for 13 years, played solo and in flute quartets and competed in contests. I had great teachers who inspired me to play classical music, as well as jazz and improvised music on the flute! Currently playing jazz flute and improvised music!
