About Me

My name is Hellen and I am a certified English and Chinese teacher. I have been teaching both these languages for about 4 years now. When it comes to teaching l am someone who is patient with my students because, I believe that students understand concepts differently. In my classroom we use flash cards, charts and slides so, as to make the learning experience enjoyable and easier. I also use as many illustrations as l can because it gives the students a visual understanding which aids to great results. My teaching methods vary from student to student. In my teaching process l always try to create a friendly and comfortable environment for myself and the students so,that both of us have room to be academically open to each other. I am someone who is result oriented which is why I always ask the student before we start our lessons the kind of results they want so, that we work towards it. l believe once someone knows exactly what they want, attaining it is inevitable. I always believe that where there is a will there is a way. I will always do my best to help my students but, there have to be determined as well and together we can produce great results. I have a bachelor’s degree in Chinese and Linguistics . I also, have a 120 hr certificate in Teaching English as a foreign language and a certificate in Teaching Techniques.

I specialize in teaching university students how to write dissertation proposal in the field of management. My goal is to keep students challenged but not overloaded. This is very important for final year students.

1.Create a library of articles on the laptop
2. Cite references
3. Generating a bibliography
4. Using your laptop to create the table of contents, table of figures etc

I am a young lady in my twenties who is an English native. I am a psychologist by profession and have had experience working with students with learning disabilities although not certified. I have one year experience of teaching English online and one year experience of teaching our local language called Shona to non-Shona speakers.

I love communicating with people from different walks of life so I to am a language learner. I speak very little Korean, little Portuguese and am working towards perfecting the two languages.
