Russian Language and Literature Workshop with a Native Speaker

Hello everyone! I am a Georgian who was born in Moscow and lived there for 12 years. Russian is my first language and I speak it fluently. I am very good at explaining Russian grammar and I can help with expanding your Russian vocabulary. In general, lessons will include speaking, grammar and listening exercises. I have a lot of handouts for practicing Russian and some handouts that explain grammar rules in details. Also, I would like you to think of what you want to improve, and I am sure together we will make this work!

I am a dual citizen (Russia-USA) native speaker currently studying International Studies at Leiden University. I have past experience tutoring Russian students who want to learn English in Russia. My lessons can either supplement university courses, or work as an individual program. During my time tutoring students I have developed a personal study program, which helps students better understand the required material. My goal is to teach a language I am passionate about in a relaxed non-overwhelming manner. Students will improve knowledge of spoken and written Russian, as well as improve their accent.

I have worked with adult students for the past 2 years. Classes are based on the requirements of the Russian Language centre, which is the main organization in Russia for teaching foreigners the language. Classes are aimed at learning the reasons behind all the rules and phrases. This way the student can apply his or her knowledge without being constricted to one learnt phrase as in the Russian language a sentence can be said in many different ways with the same meaning.

I specialize in teaching Russian to adults and children. I use unconventional methods, which involve e-learning (every student get an online account with exercises, homework, and additional materials). I will monitor your progress with a learning curve and adjust my instructions based on your learning style. I believe that motivation is an essential part of language learning. Therefore, I prefer to choose topics that are interesting for students instead of following the topics giving in the books. Keeping language learning fun and exciting is always my goal!

By reading it regularly, progress will be faster. For help with writing: The objective is above all to acquire effective tools. If necessary, I have the habit of taking a paragraph at random which would serve as a basis for analyzing a passage. For the corrections of end of studies work: so that the meeting with the student is at the most profitable, I ask him to send me his writings before the meeting. Apart from my presence with the student, any course involves a preparation time before and after the lesson, including the work that I correct. My goal is to design an individualized course, so I take the time to write detailed comments on corrected work or tips to ensure maximum success for everyone. For adults (FLE): In order to optimally prepare the first ones, I take the initiative to inform myself in advance of their objectives / expectations.
