Italy and Italian: practical use and more for any level

From 39 C$ /h

Hello italian learners! I'm an italian expat student, 24 y.o, currently studying at University of Glasgow.
Since my friends always made fun of me for my precision in grammar I thought to make us of it to serve someone else's needs! As for my experiences, I have been teaching italian to asylum seekers children for a year and english to vietnamese high school students, and I absolutely loved both! My wish is to introduce people to this language that I find beautiful, and also also to show you a better side of Italy than what you might be hearing on the news nowadays. So if you are looking for some chill and useful practical lessons in a laid back atmosphere just let me know!

I am a chill person in life, and I think it also reflects in the way I teach.

I have studied at the scientific high school (focused on math and sciences but also humanities) of my city in italy and I'm currently studying international relations at Leiden University in The Hague.

Experience / Qualifications

I have been teaching italian to asylum seekers children for a year and english to vietnamese high school students in a volunteering project last summer.

Do you love Italian people, history, and food and you would like to speak the language?
I am a CEDILS-certified Italian teacher born and raised in Florence, and I've also been a language student myself for a long time! If you want to be able to interact with Italians quickly, I can give you some tips about correct pronunciation, fundamental grammar, and vocabulary, but also Italian art and popular culture, which I think is fundamental to understanding the mentality and the country that you are going to interact with.
Lessons will be tailored according to the student's needs, level, and mother language and focused on the conversation.

I am also available to proofread your writings.

Ciao! I have been teaching Italian for the past sixteen years, privately and at language schools including La Scuola Italiana del Greenwich Village in New York and ItalCultura, the school of the Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago.

During our first two lessons, I’ll make sure you have the tools to pronounce and recognize all the sounds of Italian. This step is essential, and it makes everything that comes afterwards much easier.

When I teach, I try to avoid all the things I hated as a language student. My terrifying French teacher in middle school made us repeat the same fake dialogue from a really bad textbook ad nauseam, over and over and over again. Some of it is still carved into my brain: “Bonjour, je m’appelle Richard Drapeau, je viens du Canada, je suis Canadien...”

So we won’t do that.

We’ll use real songs and real literature. We’ll have real conversations, tell stories, improvise, and, when possible, go on “talking walks.” I find that when you engage more of your senses, it becomes easier to relax, stay curious, and actually remember new words.

I customize my materials around your interests, needs, and desired pace. If you love cinema, we can work with films. If you’re interested in literature, politics, food, art, history, or simply being able to have a proper conversation when you’re in Italy, that can become part of the class.

And because you’re learning with a native Italian, you’ll also learn about Italian culture, history, habits, gestures, contradictions, and ways of thinking. Language is never just a pile of grammar rules.

I speak several languages myself, so I know both how exciting and how painfully tedious learning one can be. My aim is to give you a strong foundation without draining all the life out of it.

I hold a degree in Lingue e Letterature Straniere (Foreign Languages and Literatures) from Università Roma Tre and a Master of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts and Media from Columbia College Chicago. I wrote my university thesis on translating a long epic poem by W. H. Auden, and at one point I tried to ride a horse across America.

here you are in the right place!
Not only fun but also educational Italian lessons and language training at different levels: conversation lessons incl. grammar, preparation for the CELI/CILS exam, crash course, weekend course on request.

👋🏼 Hello! I'm Francesca. Do you want to learn or improve your Italian?
No problem, more than 300 students have studied with me and learned while having fun. I started teaching at 19 thanks to the director of my high school and I have more than 15 years of experience, in Italy and abroad, all over the world thanks to the internet.
I offer online Italian courses for all levels, from absolute beginners to advanced learners, i.e., C2. I always have quality reference books to recommend to students.
My classes are highly personalized and tailored to the specific needs of each student. I guarantee quality because I put a lot of passion and care into everything I do, trying not to overlook the details.

🚀 During the lessons, I will help you learn the basics of general Italian, paying attention to pronunciation and intonation while reading. I am always attentive to the needs of the students and ready to tailor my lessons. My lessons are an investment for the present and the future because they are prepared with passion, a lot of experience, and dedication 🧡.

🌟 If you are a beginner, don't worry because I take great care to make you feel comfortable.

➡️ I work on different levels: conversation on different topics, grammar, reading, writing, dictation and games (role-playing games in which the student can test himself by communicating in a natural and practical way with the teacher, as in real life).
In addition, preparation for official language certificates (CELI, CILS, PLIDA), the Swiss maturity exam, apprenticeship as a commercial employee CFC and tailor-made courses in a certain professional field.
➡️ All levels: A1-C2

As an Italian Opera singer, I help since many years singers with the right pronunciation of the repertoire they sing, helping them in shaping the language in a clear way, which also helps the singing.

Our lesson will involve speaking, pronunciation exercises and singing.
We will start the lesson by reading the text and finding the right direction and emphasis.
We will focus on the sounds and how to produce them.
In the second part of the lesson, we will apply all of the above to the singing!

Hello everyone!
I'm Giorgia and I come from Torino, Italy.
I offer my native knowledge of Italian to any of you, who wants to discover this beautiful language.

I teach for all levels, from very beginners to advanced speakers, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I can also help with university exams and school works/assignments.
Being a pianist and a piano teacher, I already have lots of experience with teaching and pedagogical approach with the whole range of ages.

The lesson is intended to meet the student needs: the focus can be on the grammar, conversation or literature. In case of a middle-level speaker, the lesson will cover all four language's abilities: listening, speaking, writing and reading. My suggestion of a well planned lesson is, for any level, to divide it into two parts: grammar first and then conversation (covering all the abilities mentioned above).

Thank you for your attention and looking forward to meeting you !!

Hi, I'm Paola and I'm a graduate in Italian Literature and I also have a master's degree in Teaching Italian to Foreigners.
During my time at university, I gave private lessons to Erasmus students in Italy. That experience further strengthened my interest in teaching. For many years, I have been giving individual Italian lessons in Amsterdam and online to students of various levels. Whether you want to learn or improve your Italian, I am happy to help you.
I use a book that I integrate with different materials. Conversation is very important, but so is listening and understanding a text.
The price for 2 people is higher of course, so send mj a message for more information.

A presto!

If you wish to brush up your Italian, resume a past series of lessons, or simply start from scratch learning Italian, this is the right lesson for you! I like to personalize each class/course according to the needs and goals of my students. My classes are focused on improving the student's communication skills. At beginner and lower intermediate levels, I prefer using a text book/ student book in the first part of the class. I usually use "Nuovissimo Progetto Italiano" and "Arrivederci" by Edilingua, or "Nuovo Espresso" and "Dieci" by Alma Publishing. For the second part of the lesson, I create engaging contents using original videos, press articles, extracts from blogs and social media, literary texts. If the students do not feel comfortable using Italian from scratch, I can switch to English, German, or Dutch. The course fee includes the correction of home assignments.

Italian is one of the most beautiful language in the whole world; and what’s better than learning it from an Italian girl without having to move from your couch? Absolutely nothing. I’m Lara and I’m a 23 years old student in Paris. I’d love to introduce you to this language via webcam online.
I speak English very fluently as well and I’m also nice and used to be around children, if you need lessons for your younger son or daughter.

Ciao, caro amico ! 🖐🏼
No more boring grammar and learning irrelevant texts. Italian is a language of emotions and gestures 😍🙏🏻🤙🏼

We will study the most beautiful language via interactive tools, videos activities and role-play dialogues no matter what level you're on. I'm the only one who teaches Italian dialects (they are so different)

Students enjoy my lessons because I'm a good listener and make every lesson personalised.

Since 2020 I've been helping people level up their Italian for study, professional and immigration reasons.
What's your goal ?

My teaching approach is very versatile and my lessons are crafted to meet the students' unique needs. I will always assess the specific goals a student has and I will design a tailor-made language plan to meet those needs and objectives.
Once the students (beginner scenario) acquire confidence with the language, I encourage them to orally construct phrases based on all the words they know. A good starting point that students appreciate is to describe an image. It is important for me to provide constant encouragement to students and to recognise individual achievements as well as creating the awareness that they can actually start speaking the language from day one.

What brought you here? A trip, your roots, someone special, work? Whatever the reason, I'm Carlotta, and I'm ready to hear about it.

I studied Cultural Anthropology at university. That's why, for me, languages are never just grammar: they're a way to truly understand another culture. I speak English and Portuguese fluently. When I'm not teaching, I love traveling, drawing, or crocheting.

I've been teaching Italian for 5 years: remote and I worked in schools and associations.

My lessons aren't one-size-fits-all: they're built around you.
I create flashcards and exercises tailored to your goals.
I assign homework and correct it with care, so you can see every step of progress.

Together, we work on everything you need to really speak Italian:
🗣️ Conversation — so you're never at a loss for words
👂 Listening — to understand real Italian, not just textbook Italian
📖 Reading comprehension — texts, messages, anything you read
📝 Vocabulary — the right words at the right moment
✏️ Grammar — explained simply, without confusing jargon
🔤 Pronunciation — to help you truly sound Italian

Your reason for learning Italian is unique. Maybe it's:
✈️ A trip you're looking forward to
🇮🇹 Your Italian roots
❤️ Your partner (and their family!)
💼 A stronger resume

...I'm here to get you there, one step at a time

With me, you never have to be afraid of making mistakes. I create a relaxed atmosphere where you can learn without stress. But we always follow a clear path, step by step, toward your goals.

Looking for someone who truly adapts to you? With materials made just for your level and interests?
