Performance Coaching for Singers & Musicians: Learn to be more confident, present, and connected on stage.

Do you feel like you know your music, but something changes when you step on stage? My coaching focuses on helping you get out of your head and make stronger, more specific choices in performance.

I use an action-based approach drawn from acting technique and my research into how singers can use the score as a tool for dramatic interpretation. Rather than telling you to simply “feel” the music or try to become more emotional, we work with clear objectives, action verbs, physical choices, text, breath, and musical phrasing to give you something concrete to do in performance.

We might work on:

- Making a song or aria more dramatically specific
- Finding playable actions and objectives in the text
- Connecting physicality and movement to the music
- Getting out of your head and reducing performance anxiety
- Breaking down a character, scene, or monologue
- Making musical and dramatic choices feel more natural and spontaneous
- Preparing for auditions, recitals, competitions, or performances

I work with singers and other musicians at different levels, and I tailor each session to what you are currently working on. You can bring a song, aria, monologue, audition material, or a performance problem you want to work through.

My goal is not to give you a formula for performing. It is to give you practical tools that help you make your own choices and feel more free on stage.
Extra information
Please Bring:
- A piece of music, scene, monologue, or repertoire you're working on.
- Your score and/or text
- English translation
- Your questions and ideas

About Me
I’m a Canadian soprano and performer with a background in singing, acting, directing, and performance training. Through my own training and professional experience, I became interested in how practical acting techniques can help musicians feel more confident, present, and connected on stage

During my Master’s in Classical Voice at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag, I developed my own approach to acting for musicians, focusing on action, intention, connection, and practical exercises that can be applied directly to performance.

I now work with singers and musicians who want to get out of their heads, make stronger choices, and feel more comfortable communicating on stage.
Education
Masters of Music in Classical Vocal Performance - Koninlijk Conservatorium Den Haag, Netherlands
Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance - University of Alberta, Canada
Diploma of Theatre Arts - MacEwan University, Canada
Experience / Qualifications
Performance Coach, Edmonton, Canada (2019–present)
Experience coaching young musical theatre singers in vocal performance, acting, interpretation, audition preparation, and stage presence.

Master’s Research in Acting & Performance
My Master’s research at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague focused on using action-based acting techniques in musical performance, exploring how singers can use action verbs, objectives, physical choices, and the score to create more specific and engaging performances.

Professional Classical Singer
Master’s-trained soprano with experience performing opera, musical theatre, concert repertoire, and contemporary music in Canada and Europe.

My coaching combines my background in classical singing, theatre, and acting technique, with a practical approach that helps performers make clear choices and feel more present and confident on stage.

The present course is tutored by a Classical Singer and a Classical Pianist, both study connected to the Royal Conservatory Den Haag.

It is preferred to work weekly to optimize results. The singing, and main teacher, is always present to assure the vocal progression. The piano coach will be present as often as requested by the student/advised by the teacher. The pupils will then have the best piano accompaniment.

The main objective of the course is to work accordingly with the student's goals to give a well-driven direction to our study.

The course it's thought with classic technical basics (healthy vocal benefits) but other styles can be added like the musical, jazz, cabaret, etc...

Each case will have a personalized answer. The teachers' connection to the Royal Conservatory also ensures that complex problems can be solved by asking the highest experts.

> Lesson structure:

✓ The lessons start with body/posture awareness, movement and breathing exercises followed by an individual set of vocalizes that may incorporate some scales, cords and/or improvisation.

✓ After the warm-up, depending on the student's level and goals, some song methods may fallow and/or the repertoire on which we decided to work.

✓ While working on the pieces several kinds of information will be provided:

• The Anatomy of the Voice (body, breathing, vocal cord, resonances, prevention and counseling about vocal disorders);

• Language and Phonetic knowledge of Italian, French, German, English, Spanish and Portuguese (+ strategies to enable singing in other languages).

• Vocal Interpretation, phrase, prosody, colors, coordination with the piano and tools how to personalize the 'message', among others based on appropriate bibliography;

• Drama basics, stage preparation, and fright avoidance strategies.

• Music Theory and History in order to understand the pieces more deeply through a quick analysis, period and style.

✓ At the end of each season (non-mandatory) public auditions can be arranged whenever an artistic space would be willing to receive great voices and repertoire. This works as progressive training for students individually and/or coupled - ensemble skills.

The lessons can be given in English, Spanish and Portuguese. They can be held at the teacher's location or at the student's address.

If you would like to have more information please do not hesitate to contact me!

Over the past decade, she graduated from the Royal Conservatory in The Netherlands with Bachelor's and Master's degrees in jazz singing and in pedagogical minor studies. She had a chance to participate in various music festivals as a singer, have concerts of her own, be behind the scenes in various TV shows, and win several vocal competitions, and she truly developed her ears and her knowledge that she is now also able to help others to find their own unique singing voice.

She has developed her knowledge of vocal technique, CVT method, stage presence, body language, storytelling, composition, writing, improvisation and so on. with various great teachers from all over the world. As well as, she had the honour to participate in workshops of Snarky Puppy, Dianne Reeves, Dena DeRose, Bob Stoloff, Norma Winstone, Magda Mayas, Fay Classon, etc. In addition, she took a course with Stevie Mackey, and Cheryl Porter and had lessons with Natalie Weiss. 👇

LESSONS:

I whole-heartedly promise that with our singing lessons, you will learn more about your own voice and that you will develop your own sound as a singer. My students prove time and time again that they enjoy the lessons very much and they notice clear improvements themselves.

We work on warm-ups/warm-downs, breath support and its control, sound projection, how the larynx, jaw, and tongue work and can function freely, vowel placement, vocal effects, vocal color, dynamics, articulation, stage presence, high notes - power singing (belting), jazz improvisation, vocal improvisation, interpretations, rhythmic variations, and so much more.

My goal for you is to have the best time and spend lesson time wisely while we achieve the best results in singing. If there is a wish, I can also help you to broaden your knowledge about the repertoire that is suiting to your voice color, recording sessions, live performance situations, "a workout plan for singing", songwriting/composing, music theory, ear-training, solfeggio, and such.

I recognise that every voice is unique, and that's why my singing lessons are customised to suit each individual student. The focus is on building a strong foundation in vocal technique, honing performance skills, and curating a versatile repertoire that aligns with your musical aspirations.

Whether you're a beginner or a more experienced singer, I am here to help you reach your goals. I aim to instil confidence and encourage individuality as I am very adaptable with my teaching methods because everybody processes information differently. And what’s more... It is enjoyable and fulfilling.

So therefore, I can help all who are interested in finding their own authentic voice!
