About Me

Hello! My name is Victoria, and I was born in a beautiful city in Spain, Salamanca. I lived there for 26 years and studied Psychology and English Teaching. For many years I worked in Human Resources but by fate, a few years ago, I focused on teaching Spanish.

I have been trained as an ELE teacher (Spanish as a second language) at the Instituto Cervantes in Utrecht and as a DELE examiner for A and B levels. For almost 3 years I have been living in Haarlem, a wonderful place between the magical Amsterdam and the immense North Sea, and it's here where I work as a Spanish teacher for children and adults.

I am an optimistic and resilient person; I love to be surrounded by people and I enjoy everything I do. I never stop learning and get excited about little things. In my free time, I love to spend time with my family and love reading and traveling as well.

If you want to learn Spanish or improve your Spanish, I may be the right teacher for you. I offer lessons that are fun, interactive, and based on what my students need and want to learn. I do this through a variety of activities to help you build your skills step by step; including role-playing games (based on real-life situations), Q&A's and games. ¡The goal is to keep you talking! The lessons are mainly given in Spanish, so you can learn and practice as much Spanish as possible during the lesson. Don't worry about making mistakes; By making mistakes and learning from them, you even become better. Repetition is an important part of my lessons. I often go back to check if you remember what was introduced in previous lessons.

Before we start our lessons, I want to know your reasons for learning Spanish. If you already have some knowledge of Spanish, I will determine your exact level. Once I know your needs, interests, and level, I can select the right materials and design the right course for you.
I find it better to work with a textbook to give structure to the lessons. I also use videos, slides, worksheets, and other teaching materials. If you like, I can also email you exercises and resources so you can continue learning independently.
