Private Contemporary Dance Classes - Creative Corporalities

In our experiences together we will exercise your presence as an integrated body, in a realistic, creative and imaginative way.

Through psychosomatic sensitizations (methods: BMC®, Bartenieff Fundamentals and Klauss Vianna Technique) we will visit improvisation and compositional dance techniques. The procedures intend to stimulate your anatomic structures as parts of a complete organism, such as the expansion of your vocabulary in dance, the conscious autonomy of your self-body and the creative connection between your movements in dance and your movements in daily life.

Each class lasts about one hour and a half and may contain diferent levels of warming up, stretching, fortification, choreographies, improvisation and composition practices, along with theoretical contextualizations, depending on your objectives and interests. A teaching plan adapted to your wishes and needs will be prepared.

This experience is perfect for beginners in dance of all ages or amateurs/professionals dancers who want to expand their movement vocabularies in a private and intimate class.

About Me

Hi! I'm Clara, I'm Brazilian by birth and I'm currently living in Netherlands.

I started dancing when I was four years old through classical dance. In 2013 I started studying the contemporary dances, along with the methods of Somatic Education (Body-Mind Centering®, Bartenieff FundamentalsSM and Klauss Vianna Technique), through which I approached dialogical proposals and improvisation techniques that reframed my perceptual, motor and conceptual classic dance habits.

In the course of my trajectory I worked as a dancer with four different contemporary dance companies in Brazil and Spain (Anti Status Quo cia de Dança, Cia Cielo rasO, Foco cia de Dança and Tempos Dança-Teatro), which inspires me to adopt a multiple approach in my creative processes as an artist and a teacher.

In 2019 I graduated with a Degree in Dance-Education at the Federal Institute of Brasília and since 2014 I carry independent projects of dance classes for all ages in schools, gyms, studios and social projects. I'm currently a masters student of Dance Movement Therapy at Codarts - University of Arts, in Rotterdam.

Today, grounded on dance and education specifics contents, I'm interested in exploring strategies of transdisciplinary body experiences in its anatomic, creative, cultural and therapeutical layers.

I'm all in for cultural exchange and mutual learning!

Shuffle/Cutting shapes dance lessons with a super enthusiastic teacher
I started my journey of learning how to shuffle/cut shapes a little over a year ago and it ignited a flame of passion in me like nothing had in a very long time. I'd say it's turned into a somewhat spiritual experience for me. Although there is of course still a lot for me to learn and improve on and I feel like my journey has just started, I feel confident that I can help others get started on their own journey. My fundamentals as well as my knowledge and understanding of the dance are pretty solid and I would never try to teach you something that is outside of my expertise. I think at the end of the day though, the most important thing with dance is to just have fun and to learn to find confidence and freedom in your expression through it, so most of all I hope I can help you find that.

Traditional flamenco dancing at home (Casablanca) or online
Flamenco is a magical dance art that fascinates us with grace, rhythms and deep emotions. Flamenco allows us to have a strong and flexible body, an ideal posture, lose weight, train the heart, raise stress... In addition, flamenco develops memory and a sense of rhythm. By working with various accessories (fan, trunk, shawl, skirt), the dancer becomes a true actress who tells her story in exciting dance. Do you want to become one? Book your first class!

Carla
Argentinian tango. CAUSE AND EFFECT. Communication in dance as a tool in relationships.
📌It doesn't always take two for things to work... To begin to connect, assimilate and experiment with new KNOWLEDGE, the most IMPORTANT thing is the body, the attitude, perseverance and a great pinch of confidence! I always like to approach the codes of different dance disciplines, based on structures that work on the physical, rhythmic, and creative aspects. There is an idea that Tango is difficult to learn, and of course if we approach it with that label, it will be that way. Starting from the main concept of tango, WALKING, something that we all do most of the time, dancing tTANGO is within everyone's reach.🤗 Another very important point is the way to assimilate and understand it 😉😅 ❤️‍🔥What will the classes be like, you ask? I'll tell you a little bit, we are going to develop the structure in the work of weight changes, the step, projection of the walk, the pivot, understanding the kinesphere individually and as a couple translated into the hug, the turns and the spiral torso to understand the momentum in various exercises, the eights so famous in tango, the basic step and universal exit, walks with the concept of lanes and much more from various sequences that familiarize you with the technical needs to be able to perform the steps without leaving aside the dynamics, pulse, accent and compas of the tango. Everything will be raised in the background in a more organic way. It's not just about learning individual steps, and then...what do we do 🧐? It is not the form that should take the leading role, but the way in which you express that form. We will also let your creative and playful side be part of the process, through a tool that I consider very valuable, which is improvisation 👌 since it allows you to find your own style and recognize your strengths and weaknesses to continue growing in your passion for dance. With all these tools, entering the world of more complex sequences and why not, creating your own, will be one more step and not an impossible challenge to achieve.🤩 Don't forget that the steps that are known today and a large part of the sequences emerged from a restless and creative mind, which explored synonymous with IMPROVISE❗️ Let's go through the process together and hold each other in a hug.
