I am an English and Portuguese Teacher and Translator from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with 7 years of experience working in education and translation services.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Modern Languages (Portuguese and English) ( Letras- Português/Inglês) from UVA. And I've recently acquired a Celta CAMBRIDGE certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

Hi! My name is Joana and I am originally from Luxembourg. Growing up in Luxembourg allowed me to be fluent in our three national languages: Luxembourgish, French and German (Native Proficiency).
After graduating from high school with a specialisation in modern languages and humanities, I moved to the United Kingdom to study Journalism. Living in London for over three years allowed me to perfect my written and spoken English. At the basic and intermediate levels I use a system where the student can listen, copy and repeat information similar to the beginning of learning their native language.
I assign homework after each lesson and report student progress month by month. I specialize in students being able to maintain a fluent conversation in Spanish using class time to improve pronunciation and fluency. At the same time, the student is given a practical guide where the grammar will be explained and they will be able to do infinite practical exercises that will help them improve their comprehension and text analysis.
