Figure drawing can be the basis of all drawings you want to accomplish. The skills you grasp from practicing figure drawing can translate to other skills, because you are practicing finding and drawing details that might be overlooked.

In this class, you will learn how to simply draw people. All the little details that make a person, a person. You will be taught how to draw facial features and details on the body proportionally through practicing on models online and live, doing different poses. I will guide you to see and prioritize details that can truly encapsulate the essence of a human through a small lecture. However, most of your learning will be through active practice. With different lessons, we will be focusing on different concepts, but I will give you feedback regardless, through active practice.

Figure drawing isn't easy, but it gets easier over time when you know what details to look for.

Figure drawing isn't easy; it requires precision and practice. You must learn the basics of figure drawing to grow your skills. That is why having a strong understanding and practice of your basics is incredibly difficult and important.

The basics include the correct method of drawing lines and circles, tips on understanding the anatomically correct proportions of the human body, and the practice of drawing what you see. This is the most challenging aspect of figure drawing, and it requires practice to simply put what you see on paper. It might seem tedious and somewhat useless, but from my experience, it was the foundation I wish someone had taught me. These skills aren't only used for figure drawing, but also for your other drawing endeavors.

The class session will entail a step-by-step program based on your performance and progress when accomplishing each skill. I will guide you through a hands-on process to master each lesson. This is meant to curate an environment where you feel accomplished and for you to make mistakes and learn from them.

In this class, you will learn the basics of how to paint a full-color and monochromatic portrait. You will learn the techniques of painting a portrait, color theory, blending, shading, highlighting, proportions, and proper mapping of features. This class will cover all the basics to further your skills to more advanced concepts.

This class will be based on your progress and pace. Once a skill has been achieved, we will move on to applying it to different/more advanced skills. Our lessons at the beginning will be mastering shading and highlighting with shapes, and we will slowly advance to portrait painting since this is the basis of portraits.

As an artist who specialises in realistic portrait paintings, I will give you feedback throughout our active practices to build healthy and correct habits.
