My drum lessons can go in all directions. From jazz to pop and rock and hip hop. Always starting from a good technical basis and live guidance. For all levels and age groups. Usually I build up the lessons from technical exercises. These serve as a warm-up and basic vocabulary for the student. The technical exercises start with simple single strokes but quickly build up to rolls, accents, double strokes and flams. The second part of a lesson covers the knowledge of different grooves. Both two-part and three-part grooves are part of the lesson package, but also quintuplets of grooves. In the last part of the lesson, the student has the freedom to bring his own music and analyze it during the lesson.

I am Jess, a musician and producer from Ghent, graduated as a bachelor in music at PXL Hasselt. In the meantime I have been teaching guitar for 10 years at music studios and in the form of private lessons at home. Besides teaching I have my own project called Monagi and I write/produce for bands like Tout Va Bien and Patches. I also play guitar at TheShadow Machine. All my lessons take place in a relaxed atmosphere in my music studio in Ghent at your own pace.

For beginners: During our guitar lesson you can bring your own songs that you want to work on or together we will see what the best songs are for you and what you can learn the most from. This ranges from the basic chords that make up most pop / rock songs to playing along with the melody or accompanying yourself while singing. So you can play what you always dreamed of in no time!

For advanced users: Together we look at what you want to work on in terms of rhythm, soloing or improvisation. Which styles you are familiar with or which you would like to learn to play. These lessons are ideal for you if you want to broaden your knowledge of the guitar or if it feels like you've reached a plateau you can't get past.

When you are writing music, it is very important that you show your music to people. Someone with experience in composition, even better. It is sometimes difficult to take that step to show your pieces that you have worked hard on. But this is a very important step, it makes you more confident in your own piece. From then on, people can receive feedback and evolve further. In my lessons, I work mainly on structure and learning to compose. If necessary, I will also work on details, but first the idea and the form have to be right. Composing is an evolution and I myself am getting better every year.

To compose better, thorough music theory is also important. Just as you can express yourself better with more vocabulary, you can write better music and translate your idea into notes better with more music knowledge. The importance of this is often underestimated. For me, music theory (all the basic knowledge but especially harmony and counterpoint) go hand in hand.

Do you have a song that you've written that you believe could be amazing? Do you already have some skills using a DAW like Logic, Ableton, Pro Tools or Garage band? I have worked in these areas where the boundary between composition, production and arrangement becomes blurred. The truth is they are inseparable to the end result and imagination is everything. So is an extra set of ears! Thats were I can help.

Which instrument to use ? (bass guitar or bass synth), which keys sound and where to place it in the mix. Where to set that high pass filter on the vocal? How much saturation does the snare need?

If using a studio DAW, my experience is mainly with LogicPro although most creative 'arrangement' decisions do not need to be technical knob twiddling.

My background as a musician is vocals and guitars but as an arranger I've worked with everything.

My name is Andre. I'm a professional musician with more than 10 years in the field. Despite Jazz being the main focus of my study and practice I've learned to love all genres and absorb each unique values and strengths. Sarshar (b. 1999) (Master's in classical music piano - composition) is a concert pianist and composer born in Tehran and educated at the conservatories of Budapest, Vienna, and Ghent. Known for his original compositions and distinctive interpretations of composers such as Chopin, Debussy, Beethoven, Liszt, and Bartók, he combines a strong classical foundation with a deeply personal musical voice.

He has studied classical piano with internationally renowned pianists and has performed across Europe, including concerts in Paris, Copenhagen, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Austria, and Belgium. His performances include appearances at the Polish Institute in Paris — where Chopin himself performed in the 19th century — and at the Antonin Palace in Poland, the UNESCO World Heritage site where Chopin gave concerts during his lifetime. He has also performed for the Belgian Royal Family, Queen Mathilde and King Philippe and collaborated with internationally acclaimed artists such as Alexander Vantournhout.
