I am a dynamic teacher and I think it is important to put the student at the center of my lessons. We link back as much as possible to the professional and/or personal life of the student. The needs and objectives of every student are different. Therefore, the first lesson is very important to detect it. Based on this, we can then discuss various themes. The focus is really on activating the student.

About Me

Originally I studied communication sciences at Ghent University, but soon I ended up in the NT2 world. For several years I gave private lessons (also small groups in companies) Dutch in a language school in Brussels, where I was also a pedagogical coordinator. I was also a language coach in an organization in Antwerp. I helped people here (cleaning assistants, workers, thrift store, sales staff, healthcare professionals,...) to improve their Dutch on the work floor. I also gave NT2 lessons to large groups in a CVO.
At the moment I work as a pedagogical and administrative assistant at the UCT (University Center for Language Education of Ghent University) where I also come into contact with NT2 lessons on a daily basis.

Teaching really gives me energy! That is why I want to continue to combine this with my regular job. I love the interaction with my students and I get a lot of motivation from seeing people grow in their speaking skills and language skills.

I teach (basic) Dutch to (young) adults who speak other languages. The purpose of the lesson is to be able to have easy and simple conversations in daily life. In addition, there is also practice on language comprehension and written language production. We practice Dutch on the basis of role plays, audio clips and newspaper articles. The approach is always very individual. For children, it's about learning through play; for adults, it's about conversation exercises. You always have access to online documents for practice.
