Would you like to learn Spanish in an interactive way with a focus on speaking? Do you love Latin American culture as much as I do? Say no more!

We first look at where you are now and what you would like to achieve and I adjust my lesson based on that. Having lived in Ecuador, I know all too well how important it is to be truly immersed in a language. That's why I think practice is very important: talking about your interests! Because... one learns by doing :D

Do: theory and practice - we chat a lot and get to work with photos, music, cooking, etc...

The lessons are standard at my home in Ghent Center (negotiable in Aalter). Due to training, I will not be available one Thursday and Friday per month until January '25. The other weeks and on Saturdays.

Extra information

Be sure to bring a notebook (I strongly believe in visual memory), a laptop if you want and, above all, a lot of enthusiasm!

Hi!

I am Femke, a creative soul with a heart for people, nature and Latin America! That passion started when I was 14 years old and traveling in Mexico - I was hooked! I started learning Spanish on my own and when I was 17, I went on an exchange with a host family in Ecuador. Since then, this country has been the common thread through my life, so I moved there in 2021 and my partner is from there.

I taught Spanish in adult education (CVO Kisp) and taught Spanish to English speakers and English to Spanish speakers in Ecuador. Since I returned to Belgium, I have been working at the international office of KdG University of Applied Sciences and I really want to pass on my passion for Spanish and Spanish-speaking culture!

Welcome to my online site for learning Spanish as a foreign language.

My name is Jonathan, I am a teacher of modern languages as well as a translator and interpreter. I have 10 years of extensive experience in the field of education and translation. I teach (basic) Dutch to (young) adults who speak other languages. The purpose of the lesson is to be able to have easy and simple conversations in daily life. In addition, there is also practice on language comprehension and written language production. We practice Dutch on the basis of role plays, audio clips and newspaper articles.
