English and Spanish as a foreign language classes with a practical focus: speaking, understanding and using the language in real life.
From 38.31 C$ /h
I offer one-on-one English and Spanish lessons for students of all levels, from beginners to advanced. I tailor my lessons to each student's needs, emphasizing practical language use.
My goal is to make the classes enjoyable and useful, and for us to focus together on what you really need. I work with my own materials, textbooks, and other resources, depending on what works best for you.
I like to encourage active student participation, with plenty of guided practice and constant reinforcement of areas that need more attention. I create a welcoming, comfortable, and safe environment where students can express themselves without pressure, without fear of making mistakes, and with the freedom to ask anything they need.
I don't follow a single method, because I believe it's important to take advantage of the variety of approaches that exist depending on the situation and the student. I try to make my classes dynamic and motivating, using audiovisual materials and interesting, current topics.
I like to work with real language: videos, songs, newspaper articles... Even when students travel, they sometimes bring me things they've heard or seen, like posters or phrases, and we use them together in class. I also work a lot on having students express their own ideas and construct their own sentences; from there we correct and analyze them together, because since they arise from a real communicative need, they remember them much better.
In general, I think that learning a language, like any skill, requires time, effort, and consistency. That's why I look for students who want to have regular classes, because that's when you really make progress. And that's what motivates me most: seeing them improve, gain confidence, and enjoy the process.

About Me
Hello! My name is Adéla and I have a great passion for languages and teaching them.
This interest began with English classes at school, because I was very lucky to have a teacher who was absolutely brilliant. Thanks to her, from a very young age I was already speaking quite well. Then, almost without planning it, I ended up in a bilingual Spanish high school because I wanted to change schools... and in the end, Spanish completely captivated me.
But I think I truly fell in love with languages when I did my Erasmus exchange in Spain. That's when I realized how useful they are in real life: from ordering a coffee without hesitation, to asking basic questions like how to sign up for a swimming pool, or simply making friends from other countries and feeling a bit at home even when you're far away. Thanks to that experience, I even ended up meeting my Spanish soulmate.
And also, without really realizing it, that's where my interest in teaching began, when I discovered I could guide others along the same path. I enrolled at university to study teaching Spanish and English, although at first I didn't really intend to be a teacher. I was just studying languages because I enjoyed them. But one day, a woman I was practicing English with asked me to teach her Spanish... and just like that, I started giving my first classes.
Since then, I've enjoyed guiding students in their learning and helping them discover how languages can enrich their lives. It makes me so happy when someone tells me something as simple as, "Today I ordered a coffee in another language without any problem," or that they've been able to travel and communicate with more confidence. For me, that means everything.
