About Me
Hi my name is Lucy and I currently work as a primary school teacher. I have been
teaching for 10 years and have experience working with children aged 3-12 in schools in the UK and also internationally. I have a degree in Psychology BSc and also a Primary PGDE. I am also a qualified English as a Foreign Language teacher with a TEFL qualification and experience teaching English as a language to children and teenagers of varying levels.
I have specific phonics training and can provide support with reading, writing, general literacy skills and maths skills. I also have experience working with children with SEN including autism, dyslexia and ADHD.
My lessons are tailored to meet the unique needs of the child, ensuring that lessons are fun, interactive, and aligned with their learning goals. Whether your child needs extra help with foundational skills or advanced support in maths and literacy, I am committed to building confidence and developing lifelong learning habits. I will help to not only build their academic skills but their confidence and attitudes towards learning as well, as these are key factors to ensuring successful learning.
With a strong passion for education and an understanding of diverse learning styles, I aim to make learning accessible and enjoyable for all students.
What are your hobbies?
I am a musician as well as a teacher, playing piano and singing so I love to incorporate music into my lessons. I am also interested in mindfulness and have done both personal and professional training in order to be able to bring mindfulness to my personal life and teaching as well as helping children to practice mindfulness should they want to. I believe that practicing mindfulness can help equip children with the mental tools they need when facing adversity and challenges along both their academic and personal journeys. With my adverse international experience and love for travel, I am able to form connections with people very quickly and am adaptable and flexible. I put 100% into everything I do and bring passion, compassion, positive energy and warmth and kindness into all of my ventures and interactions.
