Short film intensive: advanced production techniques for docudramas and more

Advanced film production techniques class covering the following in detail: lighting, sound, colour correction, using green screens, filming in motion, 4K resolution and remote video-editing workflows. While students will practice their skills through brief, task-based, filming and editing assignments, a large sum of time will be devoted to planning, development, setup and execution of a singular film project of their choice. In addition to preparation for working in teams on a set, students will develop the following: reel displaying a wide range of filming and editing skills, résumé/CV, general cover letter, portfolio/updated website with artist statement and downloadable professional documents. The class will be targeted towards preparing students for the world of film, whether academic or commercial.

Extra information

Each student will receive a personally tailored course based on the equipment accessible to them. If more than 15 students sign up, we will work collectively as a class.

I'm a drone pilot with a few years of experience, a pilot license from the government, a medical exam, and insurance. Most of my activities are making films, videos, and photography with my drone DJI Phantom 4. If you want to know how to fly, use applications with drones, safety, and professional video making I'm here to help. I can also teach you how to fly inside, making a 3d scan of a space with a drone and programming different flights. Also, if you don't have a drone and want to just film something with it I'm here to help you, assist you, and show you how.

This is a hands-on experience course about filmmaking. We go through all the procedures of you making a short film which is going to be the fruit of your effort :)! We work on the storytelling (does not have to be a conventional type of a story, there is no single way of telling stories), analysis of the script (if any), making a shot list, looking for the crew, taking shots, post-production (mainly editing), receiving feedback, and voilà!

With over 10 years of experience in documentary filmmaking, I offer professional training in cinematography, editing, and color grading. I studied Film, Video, and Multimedia in Korea (both bachelor’s and master’s degrees) and am currently pursuing a Master’s in Film at the Netherlands Film Academy in Amsterdam. I have also completed specialized cinematography training in Seoul and the official DaVinci Resolve color grading course. My work spans short films, art films, and performance films in both Seoul and Amsterdam.
