About Me

Hi! I'm Joan, an open, dynamic, and above all, honest person. If anything defines me, it's that I've spent a large part of my life abroad: from studying for my A-levels and university degree in the UK to working in international environments like the EUIPO.

I'm not your typical textbook teacher. I enjoy teaching because I've been where you are and I know what it's like to go from just "surviving" with the language to feeling comfortable negotiating or simply chatting in a pub. My approach is to personalize each class as much as possible; I don't believe in standard lessons because everyone has their own unique challenges and goals.

I consider myself a very proactive and good-humored person. My goal isn't just for you to learn, but for you to gain the confidence to truly let go. If you're looking for dynamic, direct classes tailored to your everyday needs, look no further!

Classes 100% personalized with the material included.

During the class you can see all the areas (both oral and written) that intervene in English communication and that are compulsory for the preparation of official exams (Speaking, Writing, Listening, Grammar). The material used in the class is its own, along with which carefully chosen existing support materials will be used.

The class is always structured following the objectives of the student and the treatment is based on trust and mutual commitment.

Hi, I am studying Law LLB in England (online) and use the language for sometime now. I am initially a music teacher and my language teaching is based on immersion. As I don't speak Spanish (yet) you won't have the comfort of me helping that way. However I can describe things many ways, helping you to imagine and discover - rather than spell (very important tho) and memorize (also very important, but words have to have an image first.

Hello, I am a teacher and translator with a degree in foreign languages and literature. I am a native Italian and therefore specialized in teaching Italian for all levels and ages, but I also offer English, Spanish and Russian classes. I adapt my classes to the demands of the students: school, university, work, language certifications, hobbies. In my classes I deal with grammar, vocabulary, culture and literature arguments that are put into practice in conversation.

Our first class will be "Getting to Know You". Your English level, your goals and your interests. It is important for my students to feel comfortable during their first class. To be able to ask questions and interact with confidence is important.
Further lessons will have a "Lesson Plan" which you will receive before our lesson so that you can review the lesson and know what we will be working on for your lesson. We will cover all aspects of the English Language, improving your speaking, reading and writing.
Learning should be fun and making mistakes is also a way of learning, so you should never worry about errors. I will correct and explain the reasoning for this.

Kids (aged 5 - 16) and adults love working with me! I've been an online English Teacher for 1833 students from all across the world for the past 3 years.

My classes are fun, engaging, and challenging in a way that helps each student to grow confidence to communicate freely.

I teach phonetics, reading, writing, listening and conversation skills from beginner to advanced.

Rather than striving to pass a test, I aim to help each person to feel supported to express themselves with confidence, so they have a solid foundation upon which to build from. There are many students who can pass a test, but can't actually speak English with confidence. My teaching style worls the other way around - we learn to speak confidently and then focus on passing a test.

My teaching materials include online games, fun cartoon grammar video classes, singing songs, playing music, writing worksheets, colourful story books and interesting research articles for the more advanced students.

I help students to prepare for ILETS examinations and interview practice through role playing - we learn by doing and not simply by reading or grammar. I love talking with my students, so I aim to bring out that side in them too.

I'm a native British tutor with over 20 years of tutoring experience. I first began tutors GCSE subjects to students in the UK when I was finishing my PhD. Tutoring has always been my passion because I love seeing students see how easy it actually is to learn a topic, when they are shown how to learn it in a fun and easy to understand manner.

When I was a Management Consultant in the corporate sector for 16 years prior to making a career change to pursue my childhood passion of teaching, we didn't hire people who had the best grades - we hired people who were effective leaders, had critical thinking and analysis skills, and demonstrated creative problem solving skills.

I aim to help a student to build these skills through gentle enquiry, fun conversations, interactive games and teaching topics from a real life perspective via role plays when appropriate.

We learn by doing, not by thinking alone.

If you'd like to find out more, please get in touch.

I'm TEFL certified and English is my native language.

I also teach Business English when required.
