My name is Nicolas, and I'm an English teacher with eight years of teaching experience. I've spoken English since I was a teenager and have continued to practice it through my many travels. My level was further improved during an extended stay in Canada. In 2018, I passed the TEFL Cambridge exam, the English as a Foreign Language Teaching Certificate.

I offer business English lessons for those who are interested. First, I consider my clients' needs. I follow a formal curriculum: the lessons are based on listening comprehension, reading, and conversation. The lessons are enhanced with visuals, videos, presentations, texts, reports, and more.

I adapt my lessons (French, English, Russian, homework help) to each student's pace and needs. Each session begins with an assessment of what they have already learned, followed by targeted work on areas for improvement, then practical exercises and real-life scenarios. I use a variety of materials to make learning engaging and accessible. My multilingual background and experience working with children and teenagers from diverse cultural backgrounds allow me to support students from elementary to high school, including those experiencing language integration difficulties, with patience and empathy.

Before moving back to Geneva, I worked with NGOs in Greece supporting refugees and asylum seekers. As part of my work, I taught English to people from many different backgrounds and levels, as well as managing community programmes and volunteers. I really enjoyed the teaching side of my work — especially getting to know people individually and seeing their confidence grow.
