Chinese Mandarin for English or French speakers (Mandarin phonetics, daily expressions, speaking skills . . . )
From 31.65 C$ /h
Ready to speak Mandarin with confidence — without feeling lost or stressed?
This class is designed for English or French speakers who want practical, real-world Chinese. No boring theory. No impossible grammar. We focus on exactly what you need to start talking.
What you’ll get:
• Useful vocabulary for real situations: introducing yourself, ordering food, traveling, meeting new people, even small talk
• Clear pronunciation and tones, explained in a way that actually makes sense
• Simple sentence patterns you can reuse again and again
• Speaking practice in every class (not just listening)
How we work:
• I explain everything in English or French, so you always understand
• The pace is adapted to you — absolute beginners are 100% welcome
• You can tell me your goal (travel, work, everyday conversation, Chinese culture...) and I’ll personalize the lesson
By the end, you won’t just “study Chinese.” You’ll be able to introduce yourself, ask questions, and hold a basic conversation politely and naturally — and enjoy it.
Come learn Mandarin in a relaxed, encouraging atmosphere

About Me
Hi! I’m Yanzhu 彦竹 👋
Born in Chengdu — hometown of the giant panda 🐼 — I’m a Southern Chinese Gen Z who has spent the last 8 years living, studying, and working in France, Spain, and Ireland. My daily life is a mix of Mandarin, English, and French, so I understand exactly where learners struggle and how to explain things in a way that feels simple and logical (not scary).
My style is warm, patient, and very practical. I don’t just “teach vocabulary,” I teach you how to survive real situations: how to introduce yourself without panicking, how to order the food you actually want, how to sound polite in Chinese culture, and how to not sound like Google Translate 😄
What students usually like about my classes:
• I correct pronunciation in a nice way, not in a stressful way
• I explain tones with little tricks that are easy to remember
• I teach real phrases that native speakers actually use, not textbook robot sentences
• I adapt everything to your goal (travel / work / dating / making Chinese friends / just for fun)
My favorite moment is when a beginner says their first full sentence in Mandarin and realizes: “Wait... I can actually do this.”
If you’re looking for a teacher who is supportive, patient, culturally aware, and a little bit fun — I’d love to learn with you 🫶🥟✨
