Now, I'm currently studying "Psychology, Politics, Law and Economics" in the University of Amsterdam, so I offer my services as a teacher to those who want to improve or learn from the very beginning.

About Me

I'm coming from Barcelona, where I am studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics. Now, I'm in Amsterdam as an exchange student in PPLE (Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics) at the University of Amsterdam.

Education

At high school, I had an average grade of 9,77.
I've always been good at school and, especially, at languages. For this reason, I enjoy doing classes and also receiving.

Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world, why not learn it? I specialise in teaching Spanish to foreign students and adult learners. In addition, math and biology can be very complicated subjects and I would like to help other students understand them better.

I am an audiovisual translator, but I love to teach languages in my spare time, I can teach Spanish since it is my native language, and English. I have experience with kids. I like to prepare my classes as if they were a game, setting small goals and objectives so we don't lose hope and actually learn something every day. I can help with conversation skills, culture, vocabulary and grammar.

I specialize in helping students maintain a fluent conversation in Spanish using class time to improve pronunciation and fluency. At the same time, the student is provided with a practical guide where grammar will be explained and they will be able to do infinite practical exercises that help them improve their understanding and analysis of text. We also work with images, sounds and videos so that the student can recognize, interpret for themselves and improve their hearing ability. At the basic and intermediate levels I use a system where the student can listen, copy and repeat information similar to the beginning of learning their native language.
I assign homework after each lesson and report student progress month by month. I specialize in students being able to maintain a fluent conversation in Spanish using class time to improve pronunciation and fluency. It was not until I started traveling outside of Mexico that I realized the importance of the Spanish language. It is everywhere and its enormous diversity in accents and the cultures with which the accents are attached to are what make Spanish such an interesting and entertaining language to dive into.

As I am a native speaker, and I have also focused on learning French and English, I want to help people feel more comfortable speaking Spanish and using it for all kinds of conversations, as well as understanding its grammar and vocabulary. I have been struggling learning Dutch as I am simply too shy to speak it publicly sometimes, so I understand how hard it can be to start feeling comfortable speaking a foreign language.

That is why my method is a compilation of the traditional usage of books, texts, audios, and short films, combined with PowerPoint presentations full of images, interactive games, and recreation of real-life situations in which the students will naturally learn complex grammar topics while having fun. I also create a particular relationship with each student to detect the type of learner the student is and tailor the class according to his/her personality, needs, and expectations. The class can be taught in English or Dutch but I am always aiming to expose the student to Spanish as much as possible so he/she can experience faster progress.

I am a native Spanish speaker with a bachelor's degree in Social Communication from Pontificia Javeriana University in Bogota-Colombia, ELE Spanish Teacher certified by Lola Martínez Cabrera Senior Professor from “Molinos de Viento” in Amsterdam and hold a postgraduate degree as ELE Spanish teacher from Barcelona University and International House. I have been giving private Spanish classes to adults for the last five years. For the last 10 years, I have been dealing with Spanish, English, Dutch, and German on a daily basis.
