French as a Second Language taught at GCSE or A Level level
From 43.32 C$ /h
This class is for anyone interested in learning French from scratch or improving their current level. My aim is to provide my students with a strong foundation of the French language (grammar and vocabulary) but also a flavour of French culture. I assign homework every lesson and provide periodic progress reports. I tailor the lesson and homework content and the method of teaching to the student to make sure everyone has the chance to learn at their own pace. Ultimately though, I want my students to be able to comfortably chat in French and develop a love of this beautiful language.

About Me
- The value of learning a new language cannot be overstated. I know this from personal experience since I can speak, write and read fluently in four languages and I love to be able to communicate with people in their native language. It is because I know how amazing and transformative speaking several languages can be that I want to share my knowledge and enthusiasm with anyone open to learning a new language.
- I am a strong believer that tailoring the content of a lesson is to the students' needs makes the learning process faster, more engaging and more fun. At the same time, learning a new language requires practice and discipline, which is why I assign homework that will help students improve their linguistic knowledge and abilities. Homework can take many forms from filling out activity sheets to watching short videos to be then discussed during lessons. Lastly, I recognise that learning a new language can be a challenge which is why patience on both my side, as the teacher, and on the students' side is necessary. I will always cheer my students on even when things might get difficult and only ask that my students be willing and eager to go through this process with me.

Education
I am originally from Romania where I attended a German school, German 'Goethe' Kollegium Bucharest. This is where I learnt German intensively from the age of seven onwards. My family and I moved to the UK in 2014 and I attended secondary school and college (high school) in England. I am now a student at Amsterdam University College (a Liberal art programme created by the Uva and the VU), where I want to major in the Social Sciences with a focus on Psychology.
Experience / Qualifications
I have completed my GCSEs in French and German while in England and have received an A* for both exams. I did my French A Level in high school and have achieved an A.
