About Me
Hi, I’m Bilal, a Derby-based English, ESOL/EAL and SEND-focused tutor. I provide calm, structured and personalised 1:1 lessons for learners who need support with English, IELTS preparation, ESOL/EAL, Functional Skills, confidence-building and SEND-friendly learning.
My teaching style is patient, clear and encouraging. I believe learners make the best progress when they feel understood, supported and confident enough to try. I use step-by-step explanations, modelling, vocabulary support, scaffolded tasks and regular feedback to help each learner move forward at a comfortable pace.
I have experience supporting children, teenagers and adult learners, including learners with SEND, SEMH needs, school refusal, literacy barriers, EAL/ESOL needs and low confidence. I also support IELTS learners with speaking, writing, vocabulary, fluency and exam confidence.
Lessons with me are calm, practical and learner-centred. I take time to understand each student’s goals, current level and learning needs, then adapt the lesson so it feels manageable and useful.
If you are looking for patient English support, IELTS preparation, ESOL/EAL lessons or SEND-friendly tutoring, I would be happy to help.
