In these difficult times my home is ideally laid out for tuition. My teaching room is just inside the front door (where hand sanitizer will be provided), the room is large enough for social distancing, and there is natural ventilation. I also offer online video lessons.

About Me

Guitarist with 30 years playing and recording experience and 20 years teaching experience. I like teaching students who are passionate about guitar, enthusiastic, and keen to learn. That way the lessons are better for both of us!

Education

I have Grade V theory and practical in piano from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, but that was over 30 years ago! Guitar wise, I learned on my own by listening to and watching other players.

I’ve been in many bands over the years, and many recording sessions. I’ve also been teaching private students for over 20 years.

Whatever your goals, if you are a beginner, intermediate or even an undecided guitar player or owner I am here to help YOU learn your favourite songs, understand them, and most importantly explore and define your very own style!

Guitar (Acoustic/Electric) lessons for beginners focus on finger placement, strumming, sight-reading, understanding groove and chord placement. Students will learn to care for their instrument as well as tuning the guitar. From classic rock to current music, guitar lessons are sure to excite your child. Our Intermediate lessons add chord progressions, finger picking, pentatonic scales, ear training and reading sheet music. For the advanced student we offer lessons that teach scale sequencing, sweep picking, riffs and intervals

I think one of the most important things when teaching anyone the craft of Music is to keep them interested and engaged. I have been through many different schools, tutors and teachers to come up with my own means of teaching which make sure students WANT to practice, learn and not smash their guitar into the wall when they get frustrated.

I have played electric guitar for 10 years, bass for 6 years, I have been producing and recording (on Logic Pro) for 6 years, studied theory for 5 years and I am a recording artist with music on Spotify, Apple Music and Youtube.

I am in my last year of completing my music degree, which I am a high ranking student scoring 1st's (almost) all round.

What separates me from other teachers is my relationship with my students, my two main priorities are:
1.Making sure my student understands
2. Making sure they are interested and enthusiastic.
(I believe you can't have one without the other...)

I am very patient and thorough with my work and i always ensure every lesson is nothing but fun, productive and enjoyable.

She currently teaches in Oxon primary and secondary schools, and from home, online or face to face.

She is DBS checked and a member of the MU.

Lessons focus on classical technique and repertoire.
