I am beginning a new job in Chengdu in January as an English teacher. I have a semester's experience and a CELTA, and my IELTS prep got a Russian student into the Master's of her dreams. I am a published academic author with a degree in Classical Languages and Linguistics from a flagship American state school (the University of Oklahoma). I can teach from beginners to advanced, and specialize particularly in teaching speaking. I can also do proofreading. I can also do SAT prep, as I got a 2340 on my SAT in 2012, and Latin or Greek.

I cannot start classes in Chengdu until January, but I can start teaching you via Skype until then.

About Me

I'm an American graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a 3.87 GPA (summa cum laude), majoring in Linguistics and Classical Languages. After getting my CELTA in August, I started teaching English in St. Petersburg, but am moving to Chengdu in January for financial reasons. I enjoy, and am quite good at, individual tutoring for English--a student of mine this year passed the IELTS with flying colors to get into her dream master's. I can also do SAT prep (got a 2340 on the SAT) and proofreading (have a publication forthcoming in a prestigious American linguistics journal.)

In my spare time I enjoy studying languages and linguistics (I have a monograph I've been working on) and cooking.
