About Me
I have been giving private lessons for 8 years now, starting with Le Français, a language that immediately fascinated me thanks to the discovery of captivating literary texts. Over time, this language has become an art which I not only want to know in every detail, but also to share it through my teachings. Subsequently, I completed my offer with French courses shortly before obtaining my Bachelor of Arts (English and French).
Each course and each discipline is adapted to the specific needs and wishes of my students. The most important thing for me is to do everything possible to stimulate motivation in each learner. To do this, I always strive to show in what practical everyday situation a grammatical tool can be used. That is why, creating my own teaching method from various works allows me to not only have an individualized approach, but also to give meaning to each new concept to acquire.
In addition to my teaching, I strive to be available by answering questions by email and / or telephone for each of them. This point is important for me, insofar as I strongly encourage independent personal work outside my presence, especially when it comes to tutoring. In this regard, when I engage with one of them, I take time to clearly express my expectations and to listen to theirs. Indeed, for a long-term result, providing regular individual work outside support hours and / or lessons to progress is essential. In the same way that learning an instrument involves working on your scales outside of a lesson, making progress in a subject implies a significant investment.
In terms of tutoring, consolidating concepts, assimilating vocabulary, catching up on academic delay, preparing assessments require long-term work. For this reason, I make every effort to plan my lessons over the long term. As for homework, giving it on my own initiative makes little sense to me, since it risks overloading it too much. That said, I gladly correct various personal work and advise exercises for optimal preparation for their future exams on request. Furthermore, my goal is not for the student to learn his vocabulary with me on the spot, or to do homework directly with him. On the other hand, I take the time necessary to show how to solve an exercise, learn vocabulary, have them recite if necessary. Thus, students can acquire the tools necessary to work independently. The ideal is to take a course of minimum 90 minutes to do better quality work, especially if it is to prepare for exams. Anxious to provide quality and professional work, I am even available to collaborate with teachers at your request, in order to help the person as much as possible. From experience, I have always found it beneficial to exchange a few words with the teachers who tell me about their expectations with regard to tutoring and tell me about the student's specific needs. This allows me to target my work more effectively and to go in the same direction as the student's teacher.
