About Me

Hi! My name is Atazia (which sounds something like: ah-tay-sea-ah). I am an English native speaker from Canada, and I grew up in a mixed home with two different languages being spoken around the house.
I always had a knack for reading, writing, communicating and for languages. Having learned other languages at a young age (and Dutch as an adult) sparked my interest for helping others in their language learning journey. I've been lucky enough to teach various parts of the world, to individuals or all ages and different cultural backgrounds.

I find languages really fun, and therefore I like to make my lessons as enjoyable as possible. My approach to learning is integrated learning - I like to get to know my students and what your interests are, and see how we can integrate that into our lessons. I find it's much easier to learn something if you are somewhat interested in it, or even a little bit passionate about it. I also really like to read and edit papers (honestly, I do), so I am more than happy to help you with writing that essay you've been meaning to get around to completing.

When I'm not tutoring, you can probably find me studying, drinking coffee with friends, walking around in the forest, taking pictures with my film camera, or heading out to check out some live music.
