About Me
My primary focus has always been working within an educational context with young people and, in the course of my varied career, I have experience both in direct teaching and educational support in both Art, Film and Photography. This includes leading/designing workshops both within a traditional school setting, out in the community; being both a Teaching Assistant and technical support and also while working freelance in a multitude of guises over many years.
On the side, I am a freelance filmmaker predominately working with musicians to make music videos, documenting Q+A's for various organisations and also collaborating with others to make more experimental projects. Since moving to Caen, I wish to become involved in the festivals and film scene here.

Experience / Qualifications
FILM WORKSHOP/PARTY LEADER
06/07/18 - 18/11/18
Enabling young children to bring to life a script they had written, often within a birthday party context. During the summer months, I also enrolled to teach on their week long courses, facilitating a learning environment where the participants learn to script, produce and shoot a film in a week; as well as cultivate other skills such as teamwork, acting and play games.
ART TECHNICIAN
06/11/17 - 18/11/18
Art/Photography/Ceramic Technician: supporting year 7-11 (ages 11-16) in their creative endeavours. I lead an 'enrichment' class one day a week which explores drawing on film as a medium coupled with darkroom duties and assisting teachers in managing the classroom:
FREELANCE FILMMAKER
04/25/17 - PRESENT
EPIK MUSIC/VARIOUS:
I have made several music videos in collaboration with Epik Music. By pushing the envelope with regards style, content and experimentation, I also have developed my skills with professional equipment and gained valuable experience co-ordinating pre-production, script writing and casting.
MEDIA ARTS TECHNICIAN
14/11/16 - 04/25/17
Technician at Media specialist school. My duties include: running and designing tutorials/workshops and specific student help during Film/Media lessons, encompassing all aspects of film production from DSLR camera work, genre specific lighting setups in conjunction with editing and post production techniques. The school has a TV broadcast studio that I have helped setup/maintain and lead workshops inducting students in its use.
This is a varied role that also includes filming/editing a range of promotional and instructional films within the school itself. I have just completed a documentary in collaboration between the school and Tate modern:
FILM WORKSHOP LEADER/PRACTITIONER
NATIONAL CITIZENS SERVICE + LOCAL COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS
06/07/16 - PRESENT
NCS Workshops (ages 14-16): Running film based workshops during the school summer holidays. This involved taking a group of young people of different backgrounds, abilities and ages to visit a 'community partner' and make a film for that organisation to use. The main onus being that the young people take charge of their productions and learn how to
interact with people outside their usual social framework. On one occasion this was a nursing home specialising in conditions such as dementia so the participants decided that they would make a free-form documentary consisting of interviews that could be shown as an event within the home itself. The final films were then shown as a showcase to their parents and the other groups to demonstrate their interaction with the community and a skill they had no prior knowledge of.
Tottenham Hale After School Community Workshops:
Working with local organisations and after school clubs to teach children artistic skills or facilitate group projects
FILM TECHNICIAN
06/01/14 - 25/06/16
I helped support, teach and induct students with kit such as HDSLR cameras, lighting, support rigs and audio equipment to use within their BTEC or A-Level Film/Media coursework. I was on hand to support the students both inside and outside lessons to help with their practical and theoretical applications, from the beginnings of planning/pre- production,Health and Safety forms through to the editing/export of their final films. I also taught two 'Complimentary Study' lessons once a week; 'Basic Photography' and 'Super 8 Analogue Film'. The latter involved teaching Super 8 filmmaking combined with modern digital techniques.
