I’m a British English coach based in Bratislava, with more than 8,000 lessons taught to over 2,000 students from around the world.

I specialise in helping adults improve their English for specific goals, including IELTS and OET preparation, job interviews, professional communication, meetings, presentations and advanced conversation.

My lessons are practical and personalised. Rather than following a fixed textbook course, I focus on the language you actually need and the situations in which you need to use it.

Depending on your goals, we can work on:

About Me

I’m Kevin, a British English coach, writer and independent educator based in Bratislava. I’ve worked in English-language education since 2009, teaching in universities, language schools, companies and online, with experience across the UK, China, Turkey, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Over time, my work has moved increasingly towards high-stakes communication: helping people prepare for international exams, professional situations and moments where they need to perform confidently in English. Today, I work mainly with adults, including healthcare professionals, business professionals and university students, with a particular focus on IELTS, OET and professional communication.

I’ve now taught more than 8,000 individual lessons to over 2,000 learners internationally. Alongside teaching, I create English-learning materials, podcasts and educational content through The English Native, and I’m particularly interested in communication, assessment, educational design and how AI can support language learning.

My academic background is in history, politics and international relations, which has also shaped the way I teach: I enjoy serious discussion, ideas and working with learners who want to go beyond textbook English.

I’ve been living in Bratislava since 2017 and am now also making more time for face-to-face teaching locally.
