About Me
David is a Belgian pianist-composer, with Spanish roots, researcher, educator and speaker.
He has studied with maestros such as Irene Russo, Alessandro Cervino, Joop Celis, Julien Libeer and Peter Feuchtwanger – the Zen master of piano.
Piano
In 2001 he won the first prize of the Musicologica piano competition, Leuven, Belgium, as well as the first prize for the interpretation of the compulsory work Bachatelle by Peter Swinnen. He concertises all over the globe, mostly in Europe. In 2016 and 2017 he played in the oldest Spanish spa resort, La Encarnación, Los Alcázares, Spain, for a select audience of 100 people in an open patio. A special mention goes to a piano recital he gave in 2013 in Mozarte, Quito, Ecuador.
Composer
As a composer, David won the Best Soundtrack award at Ciné Public Festival (Belgium, 2009) for the movie El camino del deseo by Eva. He later formally studied composition with Jeroen D'hoe at LUCA School of Arts (Belgium, 2015).
David's music has an evocative visual quality. It speaks to the senses and is rooted in human experience, often with a Spanish touch.
Researcher
As a neuropsychologist, David understands that playing the piano is the most complete brain workout. He teaches brain friendly piano learning based on the latest neuropsychological research.
Jean-Jacques Eigeldinger's book Chopin vu par ses élèves contains among other things Chopin's independent finger exercises. Chopin's 4 touches will revolutionize your piano playing making even the hardest passages perfectly playable with ease and enjoyment.
Educator & Speaker
As a board member of the Peter Feuchtwanger Society, David helps organizing the annual symposium in Feuchtwangen, Germany.
Piano Exercises for Curing Playing Related Disorders and for Acquiring a Functional and Natural Approach to Piano Playing by Peter Feuchtwanger (1996).
For practical tuition, David has years of experience with the exercises and offers individual teaching and masterclasses throughout the year on a regular basis.
