About Me

Hi there,

My name is Ben. I am 32 years old and am currently living in Bordeaux. I have developed a great passion for the English language after living in the UK for five years when aged 19 up to 25. I returned to France in 2015 and decided a little later to enroll in an English Bachelor Degree at Bordeaux University and went back to online studying. Recently, I've just passed the CELTA certification from Cambridge University.
I always take great pleasure when using my skills to help people improve their English level and achieve their goals. I am a person who builds a good rapport with people I work for and teach. Besides being a teacher, I'm also a graphic designer and illustrator. I am also a radio show host (something I also did in London for four years ! ) and in which I can share my second passion, music.

Regarding my teaching style and philosophy, I can say that I use a combination that I adapt depending on the students I am teaching. One of the most effective methods for me is the communicative language teaching style in which I teach the English language based on the types of situations the students will find themselves in. I either use role-plays or discussion topics that make conversation fun and interesting. The second style I use is a hybrid style, where I will teach specific aspects of the language using my knowledge and life experiences. I intend to make the students feel as comfortable as possible as I think it is the key to enhancing the learning process for anyone trying to learn a new language.
