About Me
🎹 Three ways to learn piano, according to your preferences
I offer three courses, each with its own method. You can take just one or combine them throughout the year.
🎼 1. Classical and contemporary piano, with or without music theory
I teach using my own method, designed for teenagers and adults starting from scratch. Its principle: each piece introduces a single new concept, so you progress without feeling overwhelmed. We play pieces you already know: Bach, Chopin, Debussy, but also film and video game music (Zelda, The Lord of the Rings, Interstellar...) arranged to your level. No music theory is required if you prefer: sheet music with the notes displayed and customized videos for practice between lessons.
🎤 2. Piano and vocals: singing while accompanying yourself
With 10 years of choir at the conservatory and 16 years of piano playing, I know both sides of the instrument: voice and keyboard. We'll start with your songs (pop, variety, Disney, musicals): first the basic chords, then the accompaniment rhythms, and finally the coordination between voice and hands. Each song is adapted to your vocal range, with simplified chord charts and arrangements.
🎷 3. Jazz, improvisation and the Anglo-Saxon language
With a chord chart (C, Am7, G7...), you can play almost any piece without sheet music. You learn to read chords, place the melody in your right hand and the accompaniment in your left, then come voicings, blues, standards, and improvisation. This approach greatly trains the ear and also works for pop, film scores, and video games.
👥 For whom?
Teenagers and adults, from complete beginners to accomplished pianists. Resuming practice after a long break is welcome.
📍 Where?
At my home in Bordeaux Bastide (Tram A and bus), in a music room equipped with a practice piano. Or at your home, on the right bank of the Garonne and in Bordeaux city center (Bastide, Cenon, Lormont, Floirac, Bouliac...). An 88-key piano, digital or acoustic, is required.
The first lesson is to discuss your goals and skill level, and then to choose the learning path that suits you best. See you soon at the piano!
