About Me

Chinese is my mother language, I can write both traditional and simplified Chinese.
I enjoy teaching children and foreigner Chinese and it brings me lots of satisfaction.
Chinese is not an easy language to learn, especially there are thousands of chinese characters, I always use Chinese character learning card, not just teach my students how to speak but to understand the character which help their writing and reading as well

Graduated in The Polytechnic University in Hong Kong, specialised in Fashion and Textile. Grade B in both CE and AL exam on Chinese (Grade A in oral and writing)

Chinese is my mother tongue. I taught Chinese during my master's studies in Switzerland. I work part-time as a Chinese-French and Chinese-English translator in a traditional Chinese medicine practice.
I have developed a study plan tailored to each student's language level. For the different levels, I prepare a short interesting text for each lesson, then help the student engage in an open conversation, with a Chinese writing assignment and recitation at the end of the lesson. Of course, for students starting from scratch, I will focus on pronunciation in the first month, as it plays a crucial role in motivating them to speak. This will be accompanied by examples, scenarios, and short texts.
After learning English, French and German, I discovered dynamic methods to learn a new language. I also helped my husband to start learning Chinese, which allowed me to design Chinese courses in an effective and interesting way. Giving Chinese lessons while introducing you to Chinese culture is a job that gives me pleasure. And what's more, I feel proud when I see the progress of my students.

I have been giving chinese lessons for more than 10 years. Before that, I was a radio broadcaster and a journalist in China, hence I have a perfect pronunciation of the official mandarin, without any accent. This course introduces students to standard Mandarin Chinese language and is designed for students with no or minimal previous background in spoken or written Mandarin. Students in this course focus on learning essential vocabulary, practicing pronunciation, and understanding simple grammatical structures. This knowledge prepares students to effectively communicate in Mandarin on a limited range of topics related to everyday situations. Students practice listening and speaking in real-life situations, learn to read
and write Chinese characters and examine how culture and language interact in China.

In-class activities and course assignments aim to assist students as they develop the four-factor proficiency and confidence necessary to initiate simple conversations. We can also have extracurricular experiences, and we can meet in our spare time for face-to-face communication, which will provide ample opportunities for practical participation.
